I would love to have a thread where those of us who use I-M in our daily lives for greater prosperity and happiness can just share some techniques. When you post a technique, please describe it in as much detail as necessary for others to try it out for themselves. I'm always looking for new ways to manifest things quicker. Also, the technique has to have worked for you in the past. I'll begin: one thing I've done lately is to write my manifestation down as a one-page story, in as much detail as possible, in my journal. I write it all in the present tense ("I now have $100,000 in my savings account") and close with a paragraph admitting I have no idea how it has come into my life, but that even at this moment events have been set into motion to make it so. Note: please do not post an argument against I-M. Every single thread on here starts off well and then someone comes along, often uninvited, to say that we're deluding ourselves... then the rest of the thread is a dry analytical argument with lots of quotes and re-quotes. And we learn nothing from it. So please only post to this thread if you're an I-M practitioner. Thank you. |

I have been waiting for a thread started by people who praise IM! I'm tired of reading posts by people who spend hours preaching that IM doesn't work. It's not helpful to people like me who want to learn to improve their IM skills. You might have passed this stage, but I was using 3x5 cards to help me visualize my intentions while doing meditation. But as time went by, I've found it to be more helpful to reduce my intentions to just single sentences, instead of small paragraphs. Now it's easier for me to focus on my intentions because I've stopped focusing on the how and now on just the what. And you? |

3x5 cards might work well for me... I'm very word-oriented so sounds worth a shot, thanks. Yeah, I really think the key is having 'faith' for lack of a better word. Figuring out how an intention will manifest simply is not our role. Once we completely let go and just focus on what is wanted, it comes much easier. |

One book you might want to look at is called "Creative Visualization" or another book called "Creating Money". THey both give examples of specific visualization exercises to do to attract money, if that's what you're looking for. One thing I can tell you that DOESN'T work, which I see over and over again is when people say to themselves "I want ________". If you say you WANT something, you will manifest WANTING it not HAVING it. For example, if you say "I WANT $1,000,000." the universe will say "Your wish is my command, you now WANT $1,000,000." You still don't HAVE it, you've just manifested the feeling of WANT more deeply, lol. I saw a guy on the TV show "Dog: The Bounty Hunter" who had tattoo'd on his arm "I want to be sober." because he was a drunk. Well, he obviously couldn't stay sober, since he was getting arrested but I felt bad for the guy because he obviously at some point wanted to get sober except that instead of tattooing "I AM NOW SOBER" or "I CHOOSE SOBRIETY" he screwed up and asked for "I WANT TO BE SOBER" which is an intention that very often involves manifesting situations where you really want to be sober like being really sick beside the toilet, people putting you through pain, getting arrested etc. Those are all situations where you might have the full experience of "Wanting to be sober." Just a small distinction I wanted to share that a lot of people miss. |

If I could add a suggestion, I would love to see examples. I manifested (Whatever you manifested). And this is how I did it (Technique Used). I am not trying to hijack your thread Daveangelas, but I was thinking about posting a thread asking people to do this same thing and it seemed to fit in really well with the thread you started. Also a question for you: Do you write out this story in your journal every day until your intention manifests? or do you just do it once and let it go? Thank You |

Thanks, impaul. I'll check it out sometime -- right now I'm reading 'disappearance of the universe' which I think you recommended on here a while ago... It's pretty mind-blowing stuff so will probably take some time to digest. Harwich, you're not hijacking at all, I think it will be very useful to include a description of what was manifested. Most recently, I used the journal story technique to manifest getting an affordable apartment in one of the country's toughest housing markets (manhattan). I just write it once, then totally detach from the outcome. Each night I read through my intention stories and put a check at the bottom. That's it. Sometimes I decide what I now want is slightly different from before, so I just write a short statement on the next page saying along the lines of: "I still have everything written about earlier, except that now _________ is also the case" I forgot to mention the other purpose of my journal. Every night before going to sleep, I quickly jot down ten to twelve things I'm grateful for. I end up repeating a lot of stuff (my family, good health, education etc.) but that doesn't matter -- it's just the first set of things that come to mind. Sometimes it's just 'I liked the new brand of coffee I tried today at lunch' so it definitely doesn't have to be epic things you're grateful for. Just whatever comes into my mind. |

Hi. I write in my journal everyday. I write down exactly what my "hot-white" imperative is. I don't spend more the 2-3 minutes on this. (My hot-white imperative is my burning desire for the day/week whatever.) Next....while exercising or driving in my car, I listen to a recorded CD of my LifeVision. It is an audio...recorded in my own voice of the ideal life that I'm intent on creating. I started by typing it on the computer. It's written in the present tense AS IF it's already accomplished and covers all the areas of my life from physical, to spiritual to financial, relationships etc. It's very comprehensive. It's recorded and then mixed with Baroque music in the background (for optimal effect because of the alpha state it puts me in). This "affirmation" or LifeVision is the most powerful tool I've ever used in my life. I've had many, many things happen within a short period of time. But I'm from the camp that the HOW is important. I have several HOWS in my LifeVision but I'm very open to what the "Universe" has in mind also. It just works great. private message me if you want to know more...such as how to record and mix etc...... |

Something that I realy like to do is to combine mi visualization with songs. I have my mp3 player with my all day, everywhere ill go. So every once in a while trough the day I play some songs and my visualization run like a music video, and the climax of the song so it's the cimax of my visualisation. Something I find great with this is that my emotions seems much more stronger that usualy. I try to match the theme or mood of the song with whatever I intent to do. Some song I realy like to put on this are: When the Lights go down (faith hill), Do i Make you proud (taylor hicks), stop crying your heart out (oasis)... |

I have posted this in another thread but thought it worthwhile to repost in a thread dedicated to the actual technique of manifestation. *** One way I access it is by stilling my mind. Here is what I do sometimes... I imagine my mind is like a lake. I can see small waves and hear the water lapping against the shore. I imagine that my thoughts are like waves causing ripples in the lake. Then I try to still my thoughts so that the lake becomes perfectly calm. If a thought enters my mind is causes a little wave. I simply allow the wave to lap against the shore. It is similar to the feeling of letting go of a thought. It creates a small wave and then it is gone. When the lake has become perfectly calm I am usually in a deeply relaxed state and can use that moment for intentions. When I introduce an intention it is like a pebble dropping into this great big lake causing ripples to emanate across the entire lake. Then I just let it go... *** For those who haven't read any of my other threads I just wanted to add some further thoughts on other ways I use IM. I guess I had been using it long before it became popularized by books such as Ask and it is Given by Esther Hicks and Manifest Your Destiny by Wayne Dyer but never really thought of it as IM or creative visualization. What I find works best for me is living my intention. In other words I don't just set aside some time of the day for meditation or deliberate intentions but allow them to become part of my day to day activity. So I go about my daily business focusing on the manifestation and act and behave as if it had already come to pass. Sometimes I even get creative and pretend that my original intention didn't manifest exactly how I wanted and it threw me a completely different set of circumstances (a curve ball if you like) to see how I would deal with the situation! I think by letting go of the actual outcome and focusing on who I need to become I get the result that is intended. |
