I found an interesting article about Will Smith, here:

Here's a part of it:
Quote:
He leans forward, as if about to reveal the secret to success. "What makes me different from other actors or rappers is that nobody's going to have the passion that I have, and that's where my confidence comes from. Nobody is going to work as hard as me. I'm not saying I'm better than anyone, and that the average person is lazy, but I have confidence," he grins knowingly. "They don't want to do the work." He elaborates: "When I was growing up, there were rappers who could rap way better than me, but while they were sleeping, I was rapping. While they were eating I was rapping, while they were out chasing girls, I was rapping."
Will Smith says he is very spiritual. He says he grew up in a spiritual home and believes his thoughts affect his reality. But he also shows how physically hard he works. It's not all in his head. He has passion. He thinks more about success, he feels more success, and he takes action to make that success. And obviously, we see how successful he is.

I stress action so much because I've seen people online say that they visualize, affirm, and visualize so much, but nothing really changes. Well, it's because they're not really doing anything. Just sitting there in your room visualizing is like buying some butter and bread to just sit in your fridge. You've gotta USE them and DO something with them to make toast! Yummy toast!

Here is a new reply to the question of whether your chair is still a chair when you don't observe it.

The answer is - it depends.

We live in a giant cosmic hologram, and whether the chair exists or not depends on the holographic projection of physical processes that take place on a distant, 2D surface.

So say the scientists.

This reminds me of the movie Men in Black, where our galaxy is nothing more than a marble an alien is playing with.

I luv it when scientists (people) say "may be" this or that! This means to me they don't know squat. Because one has the title of scientist, lawyer, CEO, accountant does not impress me in the least. What is this person doing with this life is what counts to me. As a business person I am big on results not theory! I want what produces tangible results not what so and so thinks.

Will is the perfect example...he says "I BELIEVE WHOLEHEARTEDLY"...not this maybe or that may be......

To each his own!

I think scientists are by their nature agnostic about everything. They tend to hold beliefs, I think, as probabilities rather than certainties. So to a person of science, a "may be" can mean anything ranging from "this is so likely as to be a wholehearted belief on my part" to "this likelihood of this is so small as to be inconsequential, and I don't operate in the world as if it were so, and yet there is still a very tiny chance that it is so."

Because of that range, I too luv it when scientists (people) say "may be" this or that. It's like a gift of freedom that they are giving to me.

Yea Angie.....just like snorting ground eagle's claw MAY cause a bald man to grow back his hair...the scientist.

To know and not to do is not to know. When one knows...it is wholeheartedly certain. It's not a may-be

I can think of a scientist or 2 that are not agnostic.

LOL, well then you should have stopped asking me so many questions about your chair! I assure you that whenever you observe it, it will be there. That's a very tangible result.

You're having way too much fun, you.

Probably belongs in another forum in a galaxy far, far away, but...have you had the thought that perhaps the chair is there regardless...because the chair has its own consciouness? Not self-awareness, but consciousness? Or say, that Consciousness with a capital C provides the template for a chair to manifest itself around?

Sorry, this ain't easy for a farm boy.

What you perhaps don't see is that almost all of our technology would not exist without the theories behind it. For example, the computer you are using could not have been built without a deep understanding of Quantum theory - Quantum theory is at the heart of all semiconductor circuits. Also, things like radio and television - all of electricity - could not be built without a deep understanding of the physical theory behind it.
And BEFORE these theories were developed, the scientists who worked with a bunch of disconnected, poorly understood phenomena were usually regarded as esoteric dreamers who did not produce any tangible results.

Ah, Arboretor, I was just about to say the same thing. Scientists and their "theories" have created so many "tangible" things, more so than the average person, I think.

Exclamation Hmm...

What I don't understand is how the world can exist in the first place if your theory is true. How can thoughts create reality? Matter only exists when it is observed seems completely rediculous.

Think about it this way. How do you exist now if the only way matter can exists is if it is observed.

You would:

1. Not have any real parents because you created everything.
2. Would have had to create everything in Human culture yourself. (even the things you aren't aware of currently).
3. You would be a "god" type of character because you would have always existed and that makes no sense if we see ourselves age. And if it's all in our heads where did we come up with the idea in the first place?
4. You would be livinvg in a matrix world because the "simulation" would have to have been created.

A universe that is created and you are put in it to live logicly makes sense to me, however that would mean you are the only consciousness. That being said, I would have no know exactly what you're going to type as a response to this because I thought it up. OR it was all predestined and the whole idea of the LOA is fictional because our lives are predetermined in the first place.

This whole thing seems really contradictory and I'm having trouble grasp it.
Halp?!

Thanks in advance =D

You are being observed.

That is the simple answer, if you follow the CCC theory to its logical end.

Maybe, if the holographic model holds, the Universe is being projected from a massive "slide", with we ourselves the projectors... Don't mind me, I'm in a weird, partly meditation-induced mood...

funny funny watching everyone argue that their perception of reality is the correct one.

hahahahahahaha. awww boy. if you only knew what you were missing.

don't you get it? the way you perceive reality is how you experience it. it's going to be WHATEVER you want it to be, whatever you believe it to be, how ever you see it to be, that's what you're going to get.

some people are content with their realities being determined by outside forces. some people like giving up their power because they are too afraid to question the other side of the equation, too afraid to check it out for themselves. and that's cool. i mean it's a pretty crazy thought...but you gotta be okay to sink before you can swim and trust me it's pretty f'in sweet to swim baby.

we live in a world full of people arguing that their perception is the right one when in fact EVERYBODY is right!

if you don't believe in any of this, you don't believe you have no control over your reality, that's cool, but it's just your perception of reality and not necessarily the truth. it's hard to unlearn things that have been hammered into your head since childbirth, it's frightening to let that go because it's all you know. i know it's almost empowering to come at the LOAers with "proof" and intelligent sounding arguments to knock them down or to dismantle their entire argument, but it's only hurting you at the end of the day because you'll never know the true joys of letting go and seeing that your external reality is a mirror, a reflection, of you, and who you are on the inside. how do you feel right now?

I don't even care about fighting for my perception of reality. I already get the benefits of my own beliefs, what benefit is there in trying to convince someone else of it?

If someone asks me questions and they want to see things from my eyes, then I'll elaborate. But someone challenging my beliefs, it really seems like trying to gnaw my own hand off.

It's all me anyway. Why argue with myself?

wow, just realized this thread is a year old. I bet the attitude of myself a year ago was different, assuming I participated in this thread. Let's find out.
