Today I am grateful for this wonderful thing that is life. You always try to anticipate it, don't you? Maybe it will go this way, so I better be prepared. And then it goes the opposite way and surprises you. What you need to learn is let go. Let go of all the expectations you have from people, react to what there is. It's not what you want that matters, but what there is. If you learn to live in the moment, there is nothing more wonderful than life.

Learn to love it, learn to live it, you will be forever grateful.

I am truly grateful for life itself.

For some reason, I am reminded of the quote of Penny Baxter in the Novel The Yearling by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings. This is what he says to his son who has just come of age, came back home after running away and just had a taste of what real life is all about.

Ever' man wants life to be a fine thing, and a easy. 'Tis fine, boy, powerful fine, but 'tain't easy. Life knocks a man down and he gits up and it knocks him down agin. I've been uneasy all my life...I've wanted life to be easy for you. Easier'n 'twas for me. A man's heart aches, seein' his young uns face the world.
