So my mother (I'm in my 40s, by the way) read the Secret and she keeps telling me I should make a vision board. Sounds like a fun project, but the trouble is, I'm not really sure what I want. It occurred to me I could maybe just start putting pictures that make me happy on it and maybe the collection would a) help me become a more positive, happy person and b) show me what would make me happy, show me what it is I want. Have you used the vision board thing? What did you put on it? Did it help? |

I have pictures of everything family members (the ones I like) to materialistic things like new cars, houses, vacation spots, etc. Let your imagination run wild. There are no limits, except of you use a cork board, you have space limits. That's why I prefer the electronic method. | |

I would imagine that not really knowing what you want would be a common problem with people trying to create a vision board. I think it is very much worth the time sitting down and figuring out what is most important to you and what your goals are in life. You need to get that nailed down first of all. I have found that when I collected pictures of things that I liked, I learned a lot about myself and what I value. I don't beleive it makes you into a happier person though. The biggest problem I have with a vision board is simply finding pictures of things I like and want. If you are willing to pay for the electronic version, often they give you a huge library of pictures, which would help a lot with that. I think that whether you prefer the electronic vision board or a cork vision board depends a lot on your age and how comfortable you are with computers. |

I guess in a way I sort of know what I want. But I don't have a life to support it, so I thought if I put pictures of what I want on the back of my bathroom door I would get closer to knowing how to support it. I also want to be a more positive person. I kept a journal for a few months and it seemed that I complain a lot and dwell on my problems a lot. The pictures I want to put up will show people who show a lot of self-confidence, positivity and verve. The idea of an electronic board is interesting, but one thing I want is to spend less of my life staring at screens, so that won't work for me. I think the bathroom door is a pretty big surface, and nicer pictures can go in frames in the bathroom. The whole bathroom can be my surface if needed. Anyway, I guess by posting my question I got closer to understanding what I want, and even a little closer to seeing I'm on my way to getting it. I hope so, anyway. |

I made a vision board about a month ago, and had a lot of fun doing it. Like you I wasn't quite sure what a vision board was, or how to go about making one, before I started it, and I found Christine Kane's blogpost about the vision-board-creating process quite helpful: How to Make a Vision Board | Christine Kane Also, I've just been reading Ask and it is Given (which I would recommend), and one of the processes in it is what they call The Magical Creation Box. To summarise extremely briefly, you take a box and start dropping into it any pictures you find that give you pleasure or represent what you would like in your life. Seems like this might be a good way to start... |

I LOVE Vision Boards. They do a lot of good for more reasons then people realize. In regard to what to put on there; just go to Barnes and Noble, grab some magazines you like and cut out pictures you would like to see in your life. A gorgeous husband or wife (if you're single), your dream house, car, relationship, meal, etc... I've used Vision Boards for tons of things. Not only have I manifested people (women It is a great tool and I am sure you will have success with it. |
