Exclamation Step Up! - Dave's Daily Intention Accountability Thread

Hello all -

... since accountability is the root of follow-through, I'm starting an intention-manifestation accountability thread. I've started similar accountability threads (non I-M related) on other boards and it's worked well there,

The idea is simple - by posting on the thread, you're putting your stake in the ground and saying "I'm going to stick with doing my intentions every day."

Now, naturally, it's pretty likely that we'll all fall off of the rhythm and miss some days ... but a thread like this can help jog you into picking up action. It can also be a great way to share tips with each other on how to make things work better for you.

I'll go first ....

Today I spent 20 minutes focusing on my 5 main intentions. It was a little hard to keep on track as my mind kept wandering, but after about 10 minutes I finally got into the groove of it all. I've got some minor surgery coming up tomorrow, so I was pretty preoccupied.

I'm thinking that later tonight I'll do a quick recording of my intentions and set them to relaxing music, so I can have them playing in the background more often and focus on agreeing with the intentons as I listen rather than trying to keep them in my mind. Has anyone had success with this?

Rock on -

Dave Navarro

Whatever the surgery is, hope it goes well.

For the past three (four?) days I've been writing in my personal notebook/journal twelve things that I'm grateful for. It's okay to repeat things, but the idea is to write them down spontaneously as I think of them.

That way, I go to sleep in a thankful, gratitude-filled state. It has definitely had a positive impact on my mood during the day -- I feel more at peace and excited about all the things I have that I used to take for granted (car, health, good family, strong entrepreneurial sense, etc.)

As far as main intentions go, it's to manifest $100,000 before I move into my new apartment in a little over two weeks. Not a lot of time, but the universe can handle it. I've already found a new source of income so seems to be coming together well.

Look forward to reading what other people are working on!

I will be manifesting a healthy lifestyle and 45lb weight loss in the next quarter.

I will be journaling and using my powerpoint vision presentation. I may also purchase an affirmation tape.

Default Dave's Update - 2006-12-19

Good to see all the responses - I hope you're sticking to the intentions.

I've recorded my intentons, but have not mixed them to music yet. Spent 15 minutes with them today.

(Let's see some alpha reflections already! )

Default Update for 12-23-2006

Sorry for the radio silence ... I had some surgery Monday that had a slight complication, so the last few days have been me on painkillers not getting much done.

Having my intentions recorded has made a big difference - being able to listen to them over and over again made it a lot easier to focus while cruising the Percoset highway :-) I highly recommend that you give it a shot (the recording, not the Percoset).

Seeing a good alpha reflection on the business front - I had a really good week with people buying my coaching programs. Next week I'm going to start adjusting my intentions to focus on specific goals.

I also see that though 116 people have read this thread, only two have posted. It would be great to see your posts as well! Don't be shy.

Catch you soon -

Dave Navarro

FYI, it's generally considered unsafe or unhealthy to lose weight at a rate faster than 1-2lb/week, which means in a quarter, the most you should be able to lose is about 26lb. If you're losing more than that, you are possibly malnourished, sacrificing muscle and possibly other important body parts, not fat.

Good luck on the weight loss program and keep the goal healthy! Shoot for 20lb per quarter and you'll be fine.

Being active in the daily workout thread, I know these things can be very helpful. I am trying to figure out where to start...

David,

Can you be specific about what obstacle you're encountering regarding trying to start?

Focus On Intentions:
  • 15 minutes in the morning via music
  • 15 minutes in the car on the way to work
  • 15 minutes before bed.

I'm finding I have pockets of time during the day where I literally have 30-60 seconds to fill so I'm working on creative ways to work intentions without having to step back and get in a meditative state.

What I'm playing with is taking snippets of music I like and rewriting the lyrics to frame an intention. :-) It's fun and it's keeping me a little more focused.

How's everybody else doing? Anybody having trouble hitting time with intentions on a daily basis?

Cool Nice thread

I manifest my intentions everyday. However, it took me about 5 weeks to continuely do it everyday before it became a daily habit. Of course, I messed up some days, but I just kept going. Since, I haven't missed a day in 2 months and I'm going strong.

I was unsure what to intend, so my main intention is "I have powerful intentions for great good." I have a few other more specific things as well now.

I did spend a few minutes after lunch focusing on my intentions. I don't know how or if I want to ritualize it other than doing it consistently.

Bad Dave!

I stopped posting to this thread (lots of good stuff happened and I changed some of my internet habits )

But let's get this started again, this time with a few questions:
  1. Have you clarified your intentions?
  2. Have you made it easy to spend time on them?
  3. What's the one thing that you need to do to make them more effective?

As for me, I've got my intentions on my iPod, and I listen to them on the way to work, focusing on them that way.

I'm also going to spend some time this week 'anchoring' some of them so I can increase the level of focus I have towards them.

Good stuff happening all around ... share your successes!

Keep on rocking -

Dave Navarro

Hi,
This looks like it may be kind of a fun thread to participate in.
It seems a long timesince anyone has posted here. What happened? The thread seems as though it should have gathered a lot of people aboard.

I've been conciously working within the law for about 7 months now, and have been having good success. It might be inttersting to pick out some specific intentions to focus on to bring about specific results.

I think I'll try for a raise, of a specific amount.

I'm going to focus on getting a raise to making $9.oo an hour.

I'm making $6.50 an hour now, so that will mean I'd have to recieve a $2.50 an hour jump in my pay.

I think I'll make the time frame for this to come about within 30 days.

My technique, thus far has been to express thoughts and feelings of gratitude, and appreciation, certain phrases.

One of my favorites is the one Steve has on the MDI, which I have enjoyed participating in well. I think that's the only intention I've done quite so specifically. It does make me feel good, even though I haven't the million quite yet.

One of the reasons I would like to try for this raise is that it may be come about more quickly as it is intended through the work I am involved in already. I mean I already have a foundation layed, on which to manifest.

In this same job, I did manifest a particular promotion, so I guess that was a specific one, but I've received no raise yet, so this may come very easily, like a stepping stone to the next step, then I can work on a next step, and a next.

I'll play!

My intentions:

Get three excellent music gigs, in good clubs, in the next 4 months.

Play them with joy, enthusiasm, and ever-increasing technical skills, to big appreciative audiences

Manifest a peaceful mind, vibrantly healthy 135-pound body, and a deep moment-to-moment sense of joy, fulfillment and belonging

La la la.

Thanks for starting this thread, Dave.

It would have - but I took a 'forum hiatus' to focus 100% on time management skills. Back now, though!

Did everyone spend time on their intentions yesterday? (I did ...)

... if not, what's the stumbling block?

This thread has a ton of views ... but not a ton of responses.

Since you're viewing this ... are you focusing on your intentions the way you want to?

If not, what's the stumbling block? Post it and I'm sure some of the 700+ viewers of this thread will have good advice. :-)

Intentions are done.

Today's question - What's your strategy to make your intentions most effective?

PS - Over 900 people have viewed this thread ... but few have joined in.

If you need a boost in keeping consistent with your intentions, chime in!
