Red face newbie - any advice?

Hi everyone,
it's my first post here so let me briefly introduce myself.
I'm a beginner with LOA and I am somewhat confused,
as I guess many of you have been at the early stage
of your learning process.

Before I write any further however,
let me just tell you that my mother tongue is not English,
and do not live in any English speaking country
so do not worry if you think that my writing sounds strange
or "wrong" in some way...

I am currently trying to grasp this idea of LOA
and have been concentrating on manifesting
two very strong desires of mine.

Some Alpha reflections have showed up for one and I think
it has moved to Beta state right now.

The second one has still a long way to go, I suppose.

There are some issues I would like to go deeper into,
but not all in this one post, though!

I would only like to share this with you and see
if you have experienced the same and may help me perhaps.

All this LOA process in the past couple of months for me
has been very energy draining.
I concentrate a lot on my desires,
have begun to meditate and visualize
and try to apply some of the tips I've been reading about
especially in this forum which I find so truly useful.

And all of this seems to work sometimes.
Then it stops, then it begins again.

My feeling is that it is stopping every time I seem to stop
thinking about my desire,
or not using the same "intense" emotion I usually put into my intention.

It is almost immediate.
If I hold it strongly in my mind,
almost "physically", then some reflections seem to show up.
But of course I cannot do it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as
it is really a physical effort, not only some mind business.

But the moment I let go... it seems to really "GO" away
and the beginning of manifestation literally seems to slip away.

Now, I do want to pursue my intentions and truly "get"
what I desire, but I would like to find some method
which makes me feel better along the way.

I've read here and there that for manifestation to happen
one should feel it as if it were "effortless",
and many people talk about that it should look
as if it were "flowing" naturally towards the intended outcome.

Now it certainly does not, to me.

Does that make any sense to you?

Has any of you experienced this or
do you perhaps have any piece of advice
to offer to this newbie here?
Thanks anyone for reading all this, anyway!

Hi Kateschechter,

First off, your english is fantastic. I've seen people who are native to english who can't spell as well as you do.

As for your desire, I'm wondering to myself? "Do you really want what you are manifesting?" The reason I say that is because manifesting is easy and effortless, but only when you're focused on what you truly want.

Think of it this way. If you wanted a chocolate cake, what would you see? You'd see chocolate cake, right? You might even start salvating just thinking about that cake. And the more time you spend thinking about it, the more you will desire that cake. Don't you agree?

You see, when you focus on what you really want, it's easy and effortless because you truly desire it. It's not something you're forcing upon your mind.

You may want to re-examine what you really want. Ask yourself, "What's your chocolate cake?"

Maybe I'm blocking it some how, or maybe I'm just not paying close enough attention, but thus far I've had zero success with IM. Your statement that you're able to do this partially impresses me tremendously, and ought to give you confidence!

Willkommen auf dem Board!

Thanks for your answers
and for saying my English is not bad
and for welcoming me in German
though I am not from Germany,
as my nickname may indeed lead you think.
I just took it from a book I particularly enjoyed.
...However, that's not of interest to anyone

So back to the topic:

I really thought about whether I WANTED the things I said I wanted.
I sincerely and truly do want them.

Maybe the effort I was talking about before
and which costs me a lot of energy,
is really to try and focus on the thing I want
rather than on the lack thereof.

This is my main difficulty right now,
though in the past few weeks it was easier
to stay focused on my desire, rather than on my need.

This days instead, it is getting harder to shut up my conscious part,
which constantly reminds me
that I do NOT have the things I am trying to convince her
I am having!
My conscious part is a very talkative and stubborn lady
these days, I must say...

And, Wax Frog
(sorry, I would have liked to quote you as well, but
I am afraid I'm not able to do multiple quotes, yet... )

I cannot really say I am "good" at manifesting, alas!
I may be good at seeing some hints
that something is at work,
and this gives me hope,
and your kind words indeed gave me new hope, as well!

I'll keep up with trying and reading this forum.
There are so many meaningful discussions rich in insights here
and all of you are of great inspiration to me. So... thanks!

If you have any other suggestions, I'll be glad to hear them
