I am 48 and this would be my 3rd career change. I have been trying to manifest it for months. I want it very much but have the “but” block me from doing (IM-ing) what I really want. I have a very well paid job. Boring to death. My superiors are a pain in the a…, my subordinates are great, the time just keeps on going so slow… I count the hours to go home. I have one more kid to put through school and a lavish lifestyle. The lifestyle is something my family is so used to, and somehow I can’t find the excuse to take it from them. I have my wish black board with my mantra “ Quickly and easily I get the job of my dreams and the Universe is helping me with all its powers!” I have the feeling of the new life – new job, new home.. new everything…. But it seems to come too slow… I need help in speeding everything up, and finding the courage to burn all the bridges. AND getting rid of my collection of BUTs Last edited by marinik; 08-25-2008 at 12:29 PM. Reason: Be more precise |

Hi Marinik, Congratulations on yur decision to end a boring career and start something new. ...before you got sick.... I think you may try a following exercise: 1. write down 'what you want' (I am assuming you know exactly what kins of work you want) and 'why you want it' then list as many things as possible in response to 'why', 2. turn the page over and write 'why you believe you will get it' and again write as much as you can think of repeat daily in the meantime, enjoy your NOW as much as you possibly can and think about the aspects of it that you LOVE and are absolutely proud of and grateful for and over the moon with and can't possible live without. (exaggerate is necessary!) Pack as many joyful thoughts into your days as you can to let the new job in. It's already there waiting for you Cheers |

Love Freedom thank you so much! I feel like a corporate drone. Yes I have a huge cheque every month but it feels like I am a prisioner in this circle of trading my sole for the new car, bigger home, more of everything. Sometimes not even more, just more expensive, exlusive. It is an adiction of it own! In one moment I thought I wouldn't get a reply to my thread because emotional poverty is not considered a problem if you have the "doe". But if you look at psyhology you will se that being fullfiled by what you do is one of the bigest "parts" of overall life happines. And I am empty at this department. It is so empty that I can hear the echo of pain. So I am manifesting: I job of my dreams - helping people find a career of their dreams A smaller house - passiv house (cozy and beautiful just in a different way, enviormentaly friendly) I small hybrid car A little boat Thank you Universe Thank you again Last edited by marinik; 08-26-2008 at 03:29 PM. |

Hi Marinik It's great that you are taking steps towards change. There is nothing wrong with hating the career that allows a lavish lifestyle. Maybe the resistance lies in the fact that you are not giving yourself permission to fully design a life that suits you, because you feel you are being indulgent and selfish. You seem to feel you have the sole responsibility of making your family happy through your earning potential, have you discussed your goal with them? Maybe what they will lack in possessions, they will get in the satisfaction of seeing you happy and fulfilled. Assuming you know what your real career is, I would suggest to find someone who already works in your dream field and have a casual talk with her/him. It could involve sending a letter to someone you don't know, telling them of your desire to change careers. It's not so much about networking and finding a mentor as it is to have a complete stranger mirroring your intention and dream back to you. If you get to meet that person, you will get to see the person living the reality of your dream. In turn, it will make your dream exist in your reality. You will be rubbing energies with a person who lives your dream life, whether it's in the form of a phone call, letter or meeting. This energy will positively aspect your progress towards your goal. Not only that, but the person you will talk to, or write to, will consider the achievement of your goal as a possibility. Successful people have a tendency to be encouraging, because they have made it. The fact that they take the time to listen to you, read your letter, meeting with you, means that they see your goal as achievable. This small victory might kick start a chain of positive events that will get you closer and closer. Just a thought. |

| What is the job of your dreams? Have you figured out what it is you want? Even in vague terms? Describe your environment, what kind of people you want to work with, what kind of purpose/need does your new job fulfill?

Hi Marinik, C33 has a point, talk to our wife and be frank, I am sure she doesn't want you to feel empty and unhappy in your job. Aloow her to resist the change at first, but i am sure she will understand eventually. I am on a verge of changing my carrer as well, similar story, except I am an academic, really dissilussioned with research and the whole system. I have been taking small steps and letting things to come to me in small steps as wll. And every time I want to rush things and make things happen NOW, I get overwhelmed and stuck. Probably not too good for manifesting. Send me a msg if you need to talk - we can exchange notes |

I do know what I want. I see it, feel it and can enjoy it as if it was all happening at this moment. But... the fear of not being financially secure... not being able to accommodate every bodies wishes. Feeling responsible for my kids and parents... galloping on into the sunset feels selfish PS: LoveFreedom I sent a PM to you. Last edited by marinik; 08-27-2008 at 07:12 AM. |

Hi marinik, Maybe my story will provide some insight. I'm 31 years old and working in a dead end job. I’ve been working in my full time job now for just over 5 years. I’m a mechanical engineer by trade. Over the past year I knew I wanted to quit and explore other streams of income, but I was scared. In June I finally got the courage to hand in my resignation. Now I didn’t know how this was all going to turn out, so I figured that I would just hand in my letter of resignation and that would be that. In the meantime I would have to figure out a way to put food on the table. While I was speaking with the president of the company I work for, he was very supportive of my new business ideas. He thought it was great. He also said that he would help me out and provide me with a part time contract position while I got my business up and running. I was surprised when I heard this. I’ve made arrangements to work 2 days a week as a consultant. My new hourly rate is going to be 3 times the rate I’m currently paid as a salary employee. Granted, this new hourly rate will not include benefits, a pension plan, vacation days, or any of the other fun things that come with a job, and I’m ok with that. My first day of Freedom will be November 1, 2008. Now I can put food on the table and still build my blog and coaching business, Freedom Education. In June of this year I was at a seminar in Toronto with Bob Proctor. It was in Bob's seminar that I finally made the tough decision to resign from my job. Marinik, to be completely honest, I think that's the source of it all: You have to decide to quit. That one decision will start to move unseen forces into place for your future. If you want to read the rest of my story just follow this link...Freedom Day - Nov 1, 2008 | Freedom Education |

Hi marinik, Here's another suggestion. Make sure your decision is a 'committed decision'. When I say a 'committed decision', I mean a decision that will hold you to one path. It's too easy to go back where you came from unless you make a committed decision. A simple and easy thing you could do is let your employer know that you're prepared to leave in May 2009 to create your new venture; I would even share your ideas with them, especially the ones that inspire you! Tell them when you plan to transition into the new role (if it is May 2009) and be completely honest with them. If you have a good relationship with your immediate supervisor, then start with him/her. I would even prepare a plan for your employer that provides details for the transition. This is what I did in response to the President's request. Here are the questions I would answer for your employer: What projects are you working on? What is the timeline for each project? How many hours per week will each project take? What training is required for future employee(s)? You see, it's about your employer, not you. Your employer wants to know that they're being taken care of. If you do that, you may be surprised to see what comes back to you. |
