Thumbs up Excellent idea Lil Chris!

I love that you came up with this idea!
I love that I have an “excuse” to list some of the things I love.
I love the green of the leaves in the trees outside of my window.
I love the look of the sunlight on the grass.
I love listening to the music that is the sound of life happening all around me.
I love the feel of my fingertips against this keyboard.
I love the cleansing power of deep breathing.
I love the laughter of friends and family.
I love myself completely, utterly and unconditionally.
I love the universe all around me. I love the universe that I Am.

Gods, I could go on and on…

I love this beautiful weather we've been enjoying lately.
I love knowing that the only drama I can possibly experience stems from believing my own pain inducing thoughts and nothing else.
I love my freedom.
I love the intelligence of my internal alert system.
I love how everything appears to be perfectly in its place.
I am so grateful for everything that has come before, for without it, I wouldn't "know" what I "know" now.
I am so grateful for the constant access I have to food. I never go hungry.
I am so grateful that Steve and Erin created this website, the articles and the forum. What a wonderful place to learn and grow and share!
I am in awe of the infinite intelligence that creates, sustains, and balances all things.
And I really love my morning coffee!!!

Default I heart money!

I love money!!! Here are a few reasons why:

It’s an intelligent medium of exchange.
I love the color green!
I love what it can buy.
I love how it is a quick and easily understood symbol for our life energy.
I love how it flows into and out of my life, like air, easily and freely.
I love how there is an untold amount of it always in circulating throughout the global economy, like blood through the body.
I love how I always have enough, even when I trick myself into believing that I don’t.
I love the interesting symbols our country uses on its paper currency.
I love how we’ve all agreed to pretend as if money is real and has value. It’s like a wonderfully large and intriguing game.
I am so glad to now see that loving money is not the root of all evil. On the contrary, loving money is the root of all kinds good, from charity work, to the producing of goods, the creation of services, the stimulation of innovation, and as a means of trade that connects every country on Earth.

Isn’t money grand?!?

Talking Inner freedom rocks!

  • I am grateful that I now have the ability to choose to be happy.
  • I find my emotional freedom to be delicious.
  • I love that I can decide which emotional responses are best for me without having to consider how other people think I should feel.
  • It is so freeing to know that my happiness has always been and always will be up to me.
  • I am so glad to know that I no longer “need” to find acceptance or approval from others.
  • It has been amazing to discover that all of my former drama and angst were illusory.
  • I love that deciding to “selfishly” focus on feeling good no matter what has ironically generated more compassion inside me for others, not less.
  • I am grateful to now know how to gently navigate my way back to joy whenever negative emotion appears.
  • I am grateful for negative emotions, for they show me what I need to see, when I need to see it.
  • I am most grateful for all of my teachers, and I’m pleased to note that everyone is my teacher in one way or the other!

Smile I love this forum!!!

Thanks a lot for the very kind words Marinik! And love matters to me more than anything else these days! Btw, I love you too!

You inspired me to write today’s appreciation post about this very forum:

I am so grateful that Steve and Erin followed their passion to uplift others, because without their courage and commitment, this forum would not exist.
I appreciate the ease with which I can navigate through the forums, the layout makes things simple.
I appreciate Angela's understanding and compassionate posts.
I appreciate Lil Chris's idea to start this thread in the first place. It was truly inspired!
I appreciate Pianoperformer, Seeker5, Carenkh, and Rose of Cairo's bravery in sharing their journey's toward self worth. They were inspirational and helpful!
In fact, I appreciate the wisdom I find on this forum in general. I've learned so much! There are so many more people here who have really gifted me with their insight and intelligence and I am grateful that they have taken time out of their busy lives to share what they've learned with people like me!
I appreciate the amazing contrast of ideas and opinions this forum has drawn. The diversity is so rich and so mind expanding!

And lastly, the “Religious Truths” thread was hysterical!

LOL! That is an awesome image! I can so totally see it. As a matter of fact, in a round about way, you inspired today's gratitude post....

I love America!!!

I am so grateful that I have the privilege to vote.
I am so grateful that I am free to express my views without having to consider the threat of imprisonment.
I love this country’s diversity!
I am so grateful for our country’s religious freedom.
I love it that we are a nation that evolves, that learns, and that can change for the better.
We are so fortunate to have had the Founding Fathers we did. “Imperfect” though they were, they were men of great intelligence, insight and courage.
I treasure this country’s mission statements: The Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and in my opinion, the Gettysburg Address.
I am proud of the brave men and women who have served in our military, both in the past, and now. I honor their commitment to this country.
Our ability to create our own destiny and chart our own course has always been a marvelous thing.
And red, white, and blue were truly inspired color choices for our flag!

GOD BLESS THE USA!!!

Whoops. I didn’t take your question literally. Well, here it is in a nutshell:

I changed my mind.

How did I do that?

By questioning everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING, and then adopting beliefs that were more resonant with joy. A really helpful belief to question is the notion of a personal self. They (ie, mystics, sages, teachers, etc) were all right: the belief in the absolute validity of the personal self does indeed generate much drama, angst, and pain.

I adopted the belief (based largely upon seeing the non-dual nature of reality for myself) that God is all things and God is good, ergo, it’s all quite literally good.

I deliberately focus on things to be grateful for and appreciate, which turns out to be really easy. "Now" is chock full of fantastic things to appreciate and be grateful for! I find the gift in everything now. I center my attention on “affirmative” or YES thoughts. So when negative emotion appears, I quickly notice it, and then look for the story some part of me is trying to believe. I find it, question its validity, choose a more affirmative thought, and then it’s done. These days the negative emotions are like distant echoes more often than not. I don’t take them seriously anymore. (Of course, the deeper truth is that the negative emotions aren’t really negative per se since they are as much a manifestation of life as the positive, but that’s for another thread…)

I hope that helps!

PS: I promise you that well being and joy are plain, ordinary, and right at the tip of your fingertips or more accurately, on the other side of a painful thought. Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, on the "outside" needs to change in order for you to know/experience any of this. And peace… Ah… peace really is who you are underneath all stories. Literally. And best of all, on the deepest level, you already know all of this!!!!

Wink I love Mondays!

I had a magnificent Monday!!!

I tried a new gratitude technique this morning that really put me in a great state of mind.
The morning weather was wonderful.
I was able to encourage some friends who were not in the best of moods today. Encouraging others when I can feels really good to me!
My workday flowed with ease, as I moved from one task to the next to the next.
I laughed a lot with my co-workers!
I spent some time reading a few good books.
I stayed in a mildly euphoric state most of the day as I contemplated the wonder that is the human existence.
I ended my work day in a state of contentment.

Here’s hoping that everyone who reads this forum had a marvelous Monday!!!

Default What I love and appreciate about religious conservatives

I love their dedication to what they believe is the highest good.
I love the very high value they place on their understanding of morality.
I love that they love God so much!
I appreciate the respect they have for the scripture.
I think it is fantastic how they come together to worship, to sing, to pray and to just be with their fellow believers on a weekly basis.
I think it’s most impressive that they comprise the majority of humanity. I imagine it must feel warm and cozy to be part of a global family!
And man, can they build architecturally beautiful religious buildings or what? Some of the most awesome buildings I have ever seen have been cathedrals, temples and mosques!

And I love that despite their reputation among liberals, new agers, atheists, post-Christians/Muslims/Jews/moderners, etc, they continue their "good fight" because they believe they are doing what's best for all of us. In other words, I believe their deepest motivation is love!!! I think that's wonderful!!!

You are most welcome. I guess the most important thing is to simply decide or intend to be free. One way or the other, you will be. It may take years or it may take just a moment, but it'll happen. (Again, you already are free in every way that counts right now, but that's for another thread...)

And I so appreciate your well wishes!!! I wish the same for you and all you love!!!

I love the man in my life.
I love my cats.
I love all of you.
I love my family.
I love my friends.
I love my job.
I love the sky.
I love the sun.
I love trees, plants, and flowers.
I love music.
I love being here on this Earth.
I love reading.
I love dancing.
I even love breathing!
