Adult Business and The Laws of the Universe

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I am struggling with a career choice. That career choice is whether to go back into the adult entertainment industry or to pursue another career / business.

I worked in the adult biz a few years ago and made a lot of money with it. After almost two years in San Fernando Valley I decided to go back home, built a dream home, went back to school, and have been relatively happy, but my self-imposed sabbatical is running out (and so is the money).

Now at 23 I have to decide what to do with the rest of my life. I just completed a Political Science degree, but have no interest in law, politics, or anything related to a 9 to 5 job.

I am an entrepreneur at heart, and I am inclined to do something in the adult entertainment world -- something I know and do very well ---- but ever since I have been learning about the laws of the universe, I am afraid 'karma' will come back to haunt me, since in reality I would not be making much of a contribution "for the greater good" as Mr. Pavlina would say.

I guess my question is, can someone lead a positive, fulfilling life, provide lots of value, etc. while working in the adult entertainment industry?

I'm sure many people will say that I am indeed providing value, but once again, I am not so sure it's "for the greater good".

I would appreciate opinions on this dilemma. Thank you!

Seems like you have some reasons to think this may not be a good choice, I would explore those questions you may have or do whatever it takes to resolve those feelings. I don't necessarily think the porn industry is good or bad.....since I try to be non-judgmental. I do, however, find that I have to operate within my own values in order to be authentic, and a lot of the porn I've seen is definitely not something I could participate in. Maybe you could find some different approach that would better suit your own values.

There are lots of ways to earn money (i.e. build some power) that aren't aligned with truth and love, but in the long run it's definitely best to find a solution that's aligned with all three (truth, love, and power). Sometimes this requires taking a step back so you can take a bigger step forward.

I could have made a lot of money in the gaming industry, but it wouldn't have been the best long-term approach. In the end I wouldn't have helped people all that much, nor would I have helped myself as much.

One of the best things you can do is to leverage your past experience while finding a way to bring it into alignment with truth and love. For example, instead of just doing adult entertainment, you could do more heart-centered work. For example, teach people how to spice up their sex lives, develop tantra workshops, or help men overcome approach anxiety with attractive women. There are lots of ideas you could pursue, and in the long run, they could do even more for you financially.

So instead of just entertaining people, think about how you could help them grow at the same time.

As you suspect, if you pick a path that isn't aligned with truth, love, and power, the problem area will eventually come back to bite you later. When you understand how these principles operate, you'll see that the blowback is inevitable. You'll either stunt your own growth by keeping your consciousness low, or you'll have to endure a crash (personal, professional, or both) before you can grow beyond those limits.
