Did y'all see that there's a new Hicks book available for pre-order:

Seems like that's a pressing concern around here lately -- attracting abundance.

I haven't seen it. I have to admit, I have not been able to get into Hicks too much.... I don't know. I guess I still don't believe one can channel dead people. (not saying it is not true, *I* just have a hard time with it).

I also admit I do want to attract abundance. I want to do so in a creative way that helps others. I want to "be rich" in every sense of the word, including financially.

I think I am evolving so that I can be prepared for it. It isn't an overnight process, though. I find the way I treat all of life is changing. How I treat the smallest of tasks has changed. It's now longer "tedious." Instead, everything I do is to attract abundance. The way I treat people, chores, my job ~ everything.

I suppose that sounds selfish to some, but it's human nature to want more, to experience more freedom and more of this great world. I am learning the way to get there is to do my best NOW, where I am.

Anyway... sorry for rambling. All this to say, "no, I haven't heard of that book."

I feel the same way about the channeling thing -- it sounds very goofy to me. But I don't care; I still love what the "dead people" say. Especially that one line that really struck me:

Deliberately think thoughts that feel good when you think them.

There's nothing supernatural or spooky about that -- just practical good advice that works really, really well in living a life I love.

And I don't think it's selfish to want to generate abundance, because you are not generating it just for yourself, but for the world. You living abundantly is a blessing for the world.

A friend of mine ordered it from Amazon and got it the other day. I read the foreword and the first few paragraphs of chapter one. Now I want the book!

I went to the bookstore but they didn't have it.

I'd order it form Amazon but I'm hoping I can find it at a store locally.

I was just re-reading the old "Law of Attraction" book from Hicks and found a cool exercise in there called "Wouldn't it be nice if..." I tested it and it works very well...I wrote a blog post about it on my site as well. Their stuff is very cool...regardless where it's really originating from.

It's not completely true to say that she is channeling dead people - She is channeling a collective/group of beings that have their awareness in the non-physical.

And I can't relate to how it is goofy. Maby we are all channeling more or less in the daily life. Like when I get an idea or am able to perform a complex physical task with little conscious effort. Or when I am able to sustain a conversation, also with little conscious effort. Or, maby everything. It's not an either-or thing. The next time a thought comes to you, ask yourself this: "Am I thinking the thought, or is the thought thinking me?"

It's not that hard to fathom if you can entertain the idea that everything is inter-connected/one.

At a certain point I just decided, I don't care if it's channeled or not. If you can get around that, you can enjoy the message. Who knows. You don't want to throw out the baby with the bathwater.

BTW I've been listening to the audiobook version of "Law of Attraction" over and over and over again.

I love the "wouldn't it be nice if..." process! One of my favorites, along with the Rampage of Appreciation.

Elrond, it's the supernatural aspect that gives me the wonkles. Dead, non-physical.. sort of goofy to me. But still, as cylon says, it's not important about that, because the message is so very helpful and so finely delivered.

uh-oh, jawillie, I haven't read that book yet, so I'm not recommending it! But I suspect it's a pretty safe bet, since their others are so good.

Paul, since you actualy got to see the book, did it seem different from their previous books?

I like ther message and am interested in learning more so I'm curious as to your thoughts.

Seth and Elias are the only two channeled beings that I find interesting. My take is that channelers are accessing a different aspect of themselves, allowing for them to speak from a different perspective uninhibited by their normal mind state.

Anyway, that's an interesting question.

Well, some people's take is that everything in their reality is an aspect of themselves. That would include non-physical entities; teacups; earthquakes and blue feathers.

I don't have a direct qoute from Abraham on this, but there are many that say that Seth is a part of the Abraham-group.

It will be interesting to see if Abraham's material has changed at all. I don't necessarily see eye-to-eye with what he (they) say and sometimes I think they've been away from the physical plane a bit too long.

I haven't read much of their earlier material, but it seems like they have changed during the last 20-something years. For me, it seems like they have become more and more simplistic lately, constantly hammering across the point that "the meaning of life is joy", "try to think thoughts that feel good when you think them", and "It's done it's done it's done!" - The last one refering to how your broader self has already become your dreams, and all you've got to do is align with it vibrationally (emotionally). It could also be that I'm attracting qoutes and transcripts that matches my beliefs and this is what I get most of... but I think it's great anyway!

Given their simplicity lately, it's kinda weird that they're writing a whole book on one topic, even if it's a big one. If I were to guess, they are probably going to go more behind the scenes of why we react to things the way we do and why some people are struggling to get by while others are having a much easier time. Like in "The Astonishing Power of Emotions" were they explained that we take the death of our pets so badly because they are so "connected" and when they die, we lose that influence and inspiration to get more in alignment with ourselves. Or why people willingly and eagerly incarnate with some mental retardation and seemingly give their parents a lot of grief.

If your able to get a hold of some transcripts and qoutes from some recent workshops, then you can get a good idea of what kinda "vibe" they will bring to the book.

I actually think that they have never had a physical experience. But asked about why they don't incarnate here when they say it's so fantastic, they said that they're very intimately here, that they participate in everything we feel is good. It seems like they've got both a broader but still very precise perspective, if they want to.

But if you feel that it doesn't communicate with you, they would be the first to advice you to find something that actually does

Were your ears burning? I just grabbed Instant Magick out of my library and thought of you.

I agree. Everything including the teacups is an aspect of the self. My point was that a person who is channeling a non-physical entity is tapping into something beyond the scope of there normal waking existence.

I find it interesting that many channelers are women and they tend to channel a male aspect. They also speak with authority on a variety of topics. The channeling part seems to give credibility, despite what some skeptics might say.

Consider where JZ Knight came from:

Judy Zebra Knight (born Judith Darlene Hampton on March 16, 1946, in Roswell, New Mexico) is a self-proclaimed channel as well as the CEO of JZK, Inc., parent company of Ramtha's School of Enlightenment. Knight says that on February 7, 1977, an entity called Ramtha, The Enlightened One, appeared to her and her husband in the kitchen of her Tacoma, Washington trailer. Knight says that since then, she has been able to channel Ramtha by going through a process of leaving her body, allowing Ramtha to teach through her.

I don't know if any of us would care what a woman living in a trailer in Tacoma, Washington thinks about metaphysics. Ramtha, the Enlighten One, on the other hand...

I know Seth and Elias have some very similar qualities.

I like Elias in particular because of the way he talks. It immediately jars you out of limiting beliefs.

The physical plane is a sewer, literally. All the crap (and all the beauty) runs through here. It's not etheral and removed like other planes of consciousness. The uncomfortable quality of this plane is that everything manifests. If you've got denial hiding in your consciousness, it will show up here. If you can find peace here, you can find it anywhere.

So, yeah, I have a liking for beings that have "been here, done that".

I once watched a documentary about John of God (another well-known channeler).

Some Harvard scientist came to study him by attaching electrodes to his head to monitor his brainwave activity. John's brainwaves were completely normally until he began channelling, and then within seconds, the brainwaves altered to an extremely high frequency which the scientist said should not be possible in human beings.
