Does emotion help with LOA and what if you give a great burst and then feel flat? Where does action fit in? Should you be performing actions towards your goal or should you be waiting to act when the observation/chance is there? |

| I'll give you an example. This happened (happens?) to my younger brother, who has never heard of the LOA, but attributes it all to his personal type of genius. When there's a big test coming up, he doesn't study. He doesn't study the day before because he's "not going to get smarter overnight". He doesn't study in advance because he doesn't feel like it. He always maintains that he is awesome at test-taking (putting it like this: I'm horrible at getting my homework in on time, but I always get an A on the test). Instead of studying, which he doesn't enjoy, he does things he enjoys. During this, he tells himself, "I don't need to worry about the test--I'm already prepared." This is even though he never really studied, didn't do much of the homework, and talks during class instead of paying attention (all by his own admission). And yet he gets A's on the tests. (Still gets average grades in the class because of the homework habit, but that's besides the point.) I'm not saying you should take up not studying--a precious few could probably make that work--but that his method works. He has an affirmation, and he has good-emotion activities. Combined, they confirm the affirmation. That's my 22 cents ~Jm4362 |

He manifested himself to be a genius. Instead of the mentality of, "I gotta work, and study, so I MIGHT, get a good grade, he's cut himself a lot of slack, and has the mentality that he's perfectly smart enough to do this, and so he does. This will probably work for him in a whole lot of areas in his life. He's probably wondering why everyone else doesn't cut themselves more slack in life. After all, it makes sense. Why would we want to be so hard on ourselves? |

Emotion and commitment is EVERYTHING. You must also constantly take action towards your goal(s) and be prepared to seize opportunties as they arise. Don't wait. Stephen Power-Book Library: Free personal development, success, inspiration and motivational classics |
