Default It's Common Sense

I struggle with why some have such a hard time "buying" LoA, when it is so blatantly obvious to me.

I just want to share a little story.

How many times have I tried dieting? Dieting, to me, is ACTING to lead to HAVING. You change your habits (acting) so you can lose weight (have a leaner body).

I have been successful from time to time, even losing as much as 30 pounds at a time. But, then, ultimately, my ACTIONS would REALIGN with my TRUE THOUGHTS... and.... bam.... the weight comes back on. Plus, it was HARD and TEDIOUS and always on my mind, I felt deprived, I had a hard time fitting my workouts in without much work.

I don't believe one can "fake it till they make it" as Weight Watchers often chants.

Now, since Spring I have been meditating heavily and visualizing, writing out my ideal scene, etc. about having my ideal body.

I have been losing weight steadily and it has NOT been hard at all. It IS "effortless." Does that mean I am not doing anything? NO. I am doing things... I am easily choosing fruits and veggies over other foods, I am finding exercise I love and do regularly. I am not stressed about it AT ALL. I don't THINK about food at all!

I am going to start a more rigorous exericse routine now as I feel ready. I like the Body For Life method... but then Bill Phillips is a HUGE believer of having your MIND IN THE GAME.

All around me I see evidence of LoA at work.

If you don't think life is magical or mystical, it won't be: you will always find logic to back your black/white thinking up. You will always find reasons to be skeptical.

If you think the world is a terrible place and comptetive, you will not be let down. YOu will fight your way through every moment.

I, on the other hand, believe there IS enough for everyone. I believe the world is a friendly place and we can all succeed. I have a turnover of clients this fall and I already replaced them, by networking with others in my field and by just being me. I was going to worry for a split second, but then I meditated deeply and remembered that things always work out. I got three calls last week and they all matched with my style. Out of ALL the ways to run my business, the three calls I get are matches.

Things always work out for me. I don't find that to be a coincidence.

The way I got this house... no sweat, no worries, I didn't even have a job. But, people help me.

I mean, I just have a million examples.

And, then I could tell you about a friend of mine. She worries about EVERYTHING. And guess what? She ALWAYS has something to worry about! Last week she was covered head-to-toe in an ugly, itchy rash for crying out loud. Her inlaws are "mean" and make her life miserable, the coach of her sons b-ball team makes her life difficult... she doesn't get along with co-workers. Life is always "rallying against her." I don't find that to be a coincidence either.

The energy you put out, comes back to you. Isn't it just that simple?

I don't know.

I could be wrong.

I just like living this way vs. my friend's way!

(if I sound serious I am really not.... I just wanted to share a bit)

Thank you for sharing this example. I think I'll show it to my girlfriend. She's been struggling with her weight for quite some time. Being a guy, it's hard for me to really talk to her about it since I sounds like I'm criticizing her.

Thanks again.

I understand.

My husband's advise? "Just do it." "Why don't you DO IT?" Now he sees me "doing it" and he says, "See? Told ya." He doesn't want to hear about meditating and visualizing.

Default My Health Notebook

I started a Health Notebook two months ago. This is nothing new to me, I have had many notebooks. But this one is different in that I don't track my weight, I don't track calories, I don't track time exercised.. nothing. ALL I do in this notebook is write my visualizations. Every day. Morning, and night.

Sounds obsessive, but I have years and years of stinky thinking to erase and replace with something positive.

It really is helping.

ANd.. the other day I had a very detailed dream (not a visualization, an actual dream while sleeping). I was a curvy size 6. I FELT what it felt to be in that size. I woke up at 5 am and quickly wrote it down so I wouldn't forget. I feel it was a "gift" to see what I am capable of feeling and being.

It super-charged me BIGTIME this week!

Actually, that's a very neat idea. When you write and do the visualizations, do you see things from the first person or like you are watching a movie?

Like in the dream, did you see yourself as a size 6 or were you in the body of a size 6?

This is a real question... I'm wondering what you find more effective.
