I have been skeptical about the LoA for a few months now,and this helped me,these excerpts are from "A New Earth; Awakening To Your Life's Purpose" by Eckhart Tolle;

"The whole is made up of existance and Being,the manifested and the unmanifested,the world and God. So when you become aligned with the whole,you become a conscious part of the interconnectedness of the whole and it's purpose; the emergence of consciousness into this world. As a result,spontaneous helpful occurences,chance encounters,coincidences,and synchronistic events happen much more frequently."

"Acknowledging the good that is already in your life is the foundation for all abundance."

"Whatever you think the world is withholding from you,you already have,but unless you allow it to flow out,you won't even know that you have it."

"See the fullness of life all around you. The warmth of the sun on your skin,the display of magnificent flowers outside a florist's shop,biting into a succulent fruit,or getting soaked in an abundance of water falling from the sky. The fullness of life is there at every step. The acknowledgement of that abundance that is all around you awakens the dormant abundance within."

This book is actually helping me more than Ask And It Is Given,although that book was more thorough,but maybe a simpler approach works best!

It's a lovely book, isn't it? I'm glad you are enjoying it, I do too every time I pick it up and open it to a random page, and there is the absolute perfectly perfect thing for me to read. Same thing happens to me with The Power of Now. It's the perfect embodiment of "...or something better."

Rockchick, what I really love about Ask and It Is Given is not so much the manifestation of desires, but more the idea that is so simple and obvious but how many of us implement it as a habit: deliberately thinking thoughts that feel good when you think them. THAT is what I think of as my real Law of Attraction. There just isn't any force more powerful for living a life I'm in love with, than the power of deliberate thought. I think that deliberate thought and being Present Now are just a wonderful, loving, approach to feeling good on purpose.

I'm glad you asked! Something happened yesterday that almost had me in joyful tears,and i will never forget it. Remember the part in the book that talks about the two ducks,when they "fight" its over quickly and they just fluff up their feathers and float away and forget all about it. When i read that,i thought 'wow,i want to be like a duck,i want to be in a relationship like ducks,where its nothing but just existing and loving each other.' Well,yesterday i went for a walk before the sun was up (the best time of the day,i think!) and i was walking along this path in between patches of trees,it is so beautiful and scenic...anyway,up ahead of me,i saw two figures on the path. As i got closer,i realized they were ducks! Two ducks,walking side by side,close together,down the path! Like they were married I quick went to turn my cellphone on to take a picture of them,but right as i got it on to do it,they sensed me coming and flew away. Then i got really sad because these ducks have no idea how important they were to me at that moment,and i truly loved them,yet they were afraid of me. Why do animals have to fear humans? I wish all animals would love us and not run away or fly away from us

If those of you feel you are having trouble manifesting what you wish for, remember, you are always manifesting your highest priority. The thing is sometimes you are not aware of what your highest priority is, and what you wish for is not the same as your highest priority. The key is to become clear of what is your highest priority, determine if it serves you or not, and then choose differently.
