Default attracting what I don't want...

1. How do I stay in a positive state? I've had some amazing experiences with law of attraction when I first started it, because I was very neutral about it working or not working. Now that I've seen it work to bring me incredible things, I feel like I've become possessive about it... thus I've been attracting what I don't want...

2. another problem, I have a tendency spending SO MUCH time getting myself into a positive state, and I can achieve the positive state... but then half hte day is gone in meditation, etc. and I go to sleep feeling good but not really having done anything... and then I end up not doing what I needed to do.. but still feeling good... but I'll like.. flunk an exam or miss a homework or something... it's almost like I'm trying to make it so that what I REALLY want doesn't happen, but then I'm okay and feel happy when I don't get what I want because I was happy the entire time I didn't do what I was supposed to do so... does this make sense???? it's almost like I'm being happy, but maybe on some level I'm too scared to go for the big, so I settle with the small...

How do you become possessive about using the LoA? And how does being possessive attract what you don't want?

Some people wait to feel good before doing, that leads to a lot of procrastination. Some do to feel good, which helps to get things done. Which would you prefer to be?

what I'm afraid of, is that in doing to feel good, if I'm in a negative state, then am I imbuing my actions with that negativity? If I'm in a negative state, what if I choose to do something negative?

Talking Learning to Appreciate...

One of the things that I have discovered is that along with the Law of Attraction is the Law of Appreciation. Basically we need to appreciate what we do have now and by doing this we attract more of the same. Here's a pretty good article that explains it more How to Use The Power of Appreciation to Get What You Want

Now that's very interesting, Khristine

I never have heard of that Law of Appreciation, but I applied this since many years!

Though I visit this forum frequently, Intention-Manifestation doesn't interest me a bit, because I found out that I get everything I need just by being positive, happy and thankful for all the great things in my life.

I don't need to apply I-M, to ask the universe to get me something, because I receive everything I need WITHOUT asking or begging.
A few weeks ago, I said this in another thread:

(if you don't like religious terms, you can replace "the divine providence" by "the universe")

An important advantage of this way of living is that you never need to worry about something anymore.

Minnie, what if you're in a negative state, and do a positive action and in doing, change your state to a positive one?

Then am I relying on the action to create a positive state?

Frans

I too have applied the appreciation law in many areas of my life, unfortunately not all areas. My family relationships are wonderful, I get along well with others, however I've always had just enough money to get by. This is now what I am learning to appreciate on a regular basis

What we sometimes forget is that we actually have always been practicing the LoA (we just never understood before that we were doing this) and now that we know about it we can now work it in the correct manner.

It's not so much the actions we take (although actions are important)...it's the feelings we have in regards to what is showing up in our lives. You mentioned that you seem to spend a lot of time working yourself into a positive state....meditating is good, stating your intentions while in meditation is good...however you don't have to stay in this meditative state for long...the rest of your day is about feeling good, appreciating life, people, the outdoors, whatever you want to. This is the simplest way to be in a positive state of mind. Anthony Robbins in his book "Awaken the Giant within", chapter 8, he lists great power questions that help us to stay in a positive frame of mind. It would be a great book to check into.

Bingo. Why not have both strategies in your arsenal? Feed good to do things sometimes, and do things to feel good sometimes?

It's like having 2 ice-creams instead of one one day you can have chocolate, the other you can have strawberry, vanilla, or butter pecan.
