| Hi everyone, I'm new at this LoA thing and I'm having some trouble getting started. I find that sometimes I doubt myself too much and all these negative feelings are stopping me from acheiving what I want. But I would like to start an experiment to see if I can gain weight and I would like some tips. What should I do everyday? How can I visualize better? What can I do to stop doubting myself? Please help me, I need support!! Any tips or any kind of help is greatly appreciated |

| I suggest practicing a little every day with small things that you don't have a big emotional attachment to and keep a journal as you go. By doing this you will put together a lot of small successes and you will have a written record as evidence when you inevitably tell yourself it was just chance or coincidence.

| Hi Kelly, It's ok... I think it's ok for you to feel doubt or some negativety when doing something like this for the first time or even the 7th... for example think back to when you learned to ride a bike, and maybe had feelings of doubt each time you fell down or couldn't keep your balance...... or think of learning anything else for the first time and the thoughts that we have in the beginning.... Usually in spite of the doubts we learn how to ride a bike anyway because we went ahead and kept practicing anyway... the doubts didn't stop you...you just 'practiced right through' them..... it can be the same with learning a new language, playing the piano, dancing...etc...I don't think I.M should be any different... The idea that even the slightest negative thought or doubt can stop I.M from happening can really be draining.... it can also make the whole thing tedious, and urge you to quit.... So my suggestion is to continue anyway, and don't be concerned about how perfect you visualize.. For something like gaining weight, you can do something as simple as this; as you go to sleep at night, began saying over and over again "now I'm gaining weight" with more intensity as you drift off to sleep... say during the day as well....let's see what happens? .... Take care.. Last edited by nightdiamond : 05-03-2008 at 12:59 AM. |
