| and I want to know how and why I am attracting this into my life. For the past several months our newspaper has gone missing a couple times a week. I made peace with that recently and told myself that if the person who is stealing it really feels they need it more than I do, let them have it. I felt it wasn't worth suffering and stressing about, and I also have faith that people reap the consequences of their own actions anyway. But now. There was a letter in my box on Saturday. My boyfriend and I saw it as we were leaving the house. I said "oh, I know what that is - leave it there, I'll get it later". Well, today is Monday and I went down to get it. No mail in the box. I am in shock, feel like crying ... and simply don't know what to do. We live in a house with 7 apartments and have the euro-style mailboxes with slits, not the american style with the big wide open door. So, anyone who wanted to steal would really have to fish for it. I am just at a loss and feel so violated...

| Hi Michelle If the predominant emotion for you with this is one of violation, I'd suggest starting with this as something to explore - where else in your life is violation of personal space or boundaries an issue? If violation isn't it, maybe look at the issue of loss. Give yourself some time to sit quietly in introspection and just see where this takes you.

| Yeah I'm going through something similar, somoene stole checks from me, had to be 4 years or so ago, b/c I dont have that account anymore. I know it is one of two ppl. I am getting bombarded with collections agencies and District attorneys. I am a law abiding citizen and feel crushed. I am even more mad at the stores that are taking these checks with out running them first or asking for proper ID. Oh well. Im done being upset about it...Right now. |

| I see two effective options for you. 1) if you want to catch the person, set up some kind of camera watching your mailbox and record the thief in action. 2) if you just want this to be over, I would suggest getting a P.O. box at your local post office. I have one and I like using it a lot. It's especially convenient because if you move (within the town), you don't have to go to all the trouble of changing your mailing address. |
