Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences basically says that there are different kinds of intelligences, and people are smart in different ways. The main kinds of intelligences are as follows: 1. logical/mathematical 2. linguistic 3. musical 4. visual-spatial 5. bodily-kinesthetic 6. intrapersonal 7. interpersonal 8. naturalist For example, if you have high musical intelligence, you'd be naturally good at music, and so on. If you have high linguistic intelligence, you're probably good at writing, speaking etc. Intuitively, I have this idea that when manifesting your intentions, the optimal method for you would be linked to your own top intelligences. For example, if you have high linguistic intelligence, a good way to IM would be to write down your goals every day. If you have high intrapersonal intelligence, getting into a meditative state and then doing your IM would be a better approach. If you have high musical intelligence, I'm not sure - but maybe you could do IM while listening to some calm, relaxing music or something ..... Any thoughts, anyone? |

That's an interesting idea, Godot! I fell in love with the multiple intelligences idea the first time I read about it, it always seemed to make much more sense than a one-size-fits-all definition of IQ. I know that as a very visual and linguistic person, I've always found it natural to think in pictures and words, difficult and very weird to think about thinking in music.

Very interesting. I've heard about this before, but didn't know of the complete variety. It does make alot of sense, to say the least. And I would think that it is possible for a musically intelligent person to intend just as well, through a written song that is all about the intention they want. Considering that a song has elements from many of these forms of intelligents: Intrapersonal because the musician is often conveying something within their mind that they hold important and meaningful. Which is often emotional to some level, which would help fuel/enhance an intention in being manifested. It's interpersonal when the musician is intending something for someone other than him or herself (but ultimately only the one anyway) which can also be somewhat emotionally charged. Just thinking about it, a musical approach could be a very strong vehicle for an intention to manifest. It has probly been done countless times already. |

This is a very interesting approach. I think it makes a lot of sense. If nothing else, we should consider this perspective when trying to reach or balance vibrational harmony. In other words, in order to put ourselves in alignment with what we want, we need to think and do things that make us feel good. What makes us feel good? It's different to each person: to a musical person, listening to music or singing are probably things that make them feel good, to a bodily-kinesthetic, maybe it's going for a run and so on. Once in this state of feeling blissful, it's intention time. Very good point! |
