I've seen JSB recommend EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) to change limiting beliefs and bad emotions. Supposedly it also can cure physical ailments, even diseases. I got the basic manual, and it's really interesting. I've tried it a little so far, but haven't really had my situation tested--also, I might have done it wrong, it being the first time. So, does anyone have comments and feedback on this? I'm really curious. A lot of people here and there claim how wonderful it is; I'm skeptical only by procedure with something new (as in, I'm only being skeptical because I am really excited about it and want to believe in it). Thanks! |

HI, the best way to think about all these things is that they lead to a change in belief. If tapping a meridian does it, great, it performing someother ritual does it great. You cannot get it wrong, that is important to remember as it is your reality! dave |

I was a sceptic too, even when I first used it some years back. But I can say that it truly works. If you need to learn the steps visually, you can go to youtube and search for "EFT". There are many instructional videos that you can follow there. Sign up to the newsletter on Gary Criag's site at EFT Provides Impressive Health and Emotional Freedom--New Discovery Often Works Where Nothing Else so that you can learn more about the type of situations that you can apply the technique. If you need to read about my experience with EFT and dealing with all kinds of emotions, from fear of spirits to sadness over childhood experiences, you can check up the listing on my blog here EFT | Attraction Mind Map. Take care! Evelyn |

I found this other website--tapping.com. I feel a little bad because I don't know how much they're mooching off of Gary Craig's method... but I found the videos more in depth, and they offer more for free. Anyway, I found that one tapping point caused an intense emotional effect--I started crying. And it felt so good. I kind of feel like I can't feel the feeling after I finish--same with Sedona method--and so I need to kind of forget about it for a while, let things settle. At any rate, I have seen it cause an immediate improvement. For instance, the other night I watched Sweeney TOdd before going to bed and was plagued by bloody images. I did teh method in bed (my boyfriend was like, "are you ok?" lol) and it got rid of the images... So, good results so far. |

I also didn't get results when I first started with eft and thought perhaps I wasn't doing it right. I then got the videos and saw nothing wrong with how I was doing it. I think the problem sometimes is because you don't believe that it will work, so maybe you can tap on your lack of believe. "Even though I don't believe that this will work for me, I deeply and completely love and accept myself" and see what happens. Hope this helps. |

oh my god. i went to youtube.com and found a video of EFT. At the moment i was feeling a bit jealous but after using it it slowly started to go down. it is truly wonderful. EFT is definitely a good way to help you become better at IM.

The first time I read about it I thought it was bunk. That was a couple months ago. However this thread got me curious about it again. Now I'm at a point in my life where I believe it may be legit. Here are some instructional youtube videos that you can try out. YouTube - magnustapping's Channel It seems like the tapping technique is the same no matter what the problem is. Is that right? |

I've used EFT with a master practitioner over the course of 6months, once a week. My fiancé had committed suicide, so besides the usual grief, I was filled with such guilt that I was myself suicidal. That issue subsided dramatically at around 4 months. I spent the next 2 months working on other issues. The techniques I learned are different from the tapping videos. Basically, EFT is quite flexible in what you can say. I rarely use the tapping on the back of the hand, or humming and counting...but sometimes I do. I also use two additional points (liver point, and wrist point). I also use the TAT pose in conjunction to EFT. It's worked out very well for me, but without a doubt, a skilled practitioner can make a huge difference. We often are blind to our own issues, and a neutral party can really bring forth the "real" issues. |

And uberinquisitive, thanks for responding. It's interesting you worked with a practitioner. I championed your response on another section of this forum (social/relationships), so I knew already about your situation, and I'm really glad you're finding peace after everything. Thanks so much for your insight--I'm sure, with anything, it helps to get another person's diagnosis/opinion. Much love.

I used tapping for the biggest stage fright ever. I was so scared that just thinking about it made me shake and lose my breath. It helped me so much, that when the actual event came, I was a little excited, but just so much that it helped me stay concentrated. I was totally impressed and I couldn't believe that it was so simple. I honestly think that if I didn't accidentally(?) run into this technique I wouldn't be able to do the presentation. I can say that it is TOTALLY working. Even thought I didn't believe it either, I just did it, thinking "yea right". I used Paul McKennas video, and videos from web site Tapping.com - Free EFT Videos - Emotional Freedom Technique. |

I am fairly new to EFT, but have tried on myself and I think it's amazing. The first issue I tapped for, it just felt like something had left my body. I think it's very useful for clearing issues so that you can move forward. Does anyone know whether you need to be registered or have a qualification to be a pracititioner? From looking at Gary Craig's website, he makes it sound as if watching his DVD's will give you more information than any class could. But it doesn't sound right that you could call yourself an EFT practitioner just from watching a DVD? |

Don't worry about Gary. He snatched everything from someone else and makes no bones about it, though he has since modified it and it still works. Jennifer

I love it and use it all the time, for all sorts of stuff. Mostly for reducing emotional stress or distress, and it works quite well for that, though I sometimes throw in a few additional things including aromatherapy and/or herbs, and sometimes the Abraham emotional scale technique if it gets really bad. Why so much? I've had some pretty rough times recently and frequently thought I was about to lose it. I might well have lost it if it hadn't been for EFT, which was always available to me. Also had an astonishing effect on my fear of dogs. I was tapping on that in the beginning because that was a pretty big fear i had, and when I visited someone who had a big dog (that I didn't know about before I arrived), I found myself astonishingly calm and had no real anxiety at all. Also helped me with major nausea on a plane during a very rocky descent -- I was already pulling the baggie from the seat pocket when I thought, why not tap, and so I tapped and a minute later I put the baggie away and another minute later, the nausea was all gone even though the plane was still lurching about wildly. Then I tapped a bit more on anxiety, which helped a lot too. And headaches... Great stuff! |
