What is your opinion on the following text

Hello!

I've just registered on the forums. I am reading the Urantia book and I was reading yesterday a chapter regarding the mind and the soul and some of it reminded me a lot LOA. Here's the text. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this! Thanks!

"The spirit can dominate mind; so mind can control energy. But mind can control energy only through its own intelligent manipulation of the metamorphic potentials inherent in the mathematical level of the causes and effects of the physical domains. Creature mind does not inherently control energy; that is a Deity prerogative. But creature mind can and does manipulate energy just in so far as it has become master of the energy secrets of the physical universe.

When man wishes to modify physical reality, be it himself or his environment, he succeeds to the extent that he has discovered the ways and means of controlling matter and directing energy. Unaided mind is impotent to influence anything material save its own physical mechanism, with which it is inescapably linked. But through the intelligent use of the body mechanism, mind can create other mechanisms, even energy relationships and living relationships, by the utilization of which this mind can increasingly control and even dominate its physical level in the universe." (The Urantia book, paper 111, 6. The Human Paradox, page 1222)

Personally, I always thought that the whole LOA thing has to do with energy and that for the most part it's an unconscious or subconscious process, because we don't really know how to use energy with our mind. We sort of do it by chance. We know that aligning our thoughts and our way of life to what we'd like become a reality helps in manifestation, but we don't really know the mechanics behind that. We just know that it happens (usually). So can we say that LOA is about manipulating the energy which is found everywhere in the universe using our mind? These are some of my thoughts on the text. I'd like to hear yours as well!

I disagree a touch. I think we are all inbued with the capability to have the control that is described as "Diety prerogative." But that to achieve it we must become Diety-like in our ways, thoughts and consciousness. Christ-like. Not a simple feat.

We regular rubes can certainly dabble and with LOA seems everyone is dabbling, with varying levels of success.
