Acting Like Godot is on a distinguished road
Default Blue Feather Experiment

There we go. Someone pulled off the blue feather manifestation. Took her a grand total of one hour.

For those who don't know what the blue feather experiment is, well, I think the idea originally came from Richard Bach's book "Illusions" which is really about LOA. The idea is to see whether you can make a blue feather appear in your reality, simply by focusing on thoughts about a blue feather.

Cool, I've found this sort of thing to be a great confidence builder, especially in the beginning. It let's you know the system works.

Heh, that blue feather experiment and the direct method thing was something I mused about a few weeks ago and sent ALG a PM about.

If the point is to get what you want, rather than to just figure out whether IM is an accurate model of reality, you stop trying to focus IM to work through just a few magical ways. Two ways to frame it. One is the dominance of analytic philosophy and the scientific method in our society that chooses "truth' or accuracy over pragmatic results, not to mention how many times a lot of us are made to feel stupid if we give the wrong answer or something. The second is an article by Steve about how do you figure out if something is accurate or not. His suggestion is that more accurate beliefs give you more creative power in the universe, so you can create better.

In either case, applying LoA to waht you want isn't very hard at all. A few minutes of visualization, or thinking about what you want in a certain way (which has non-magical benefits, too) is about all you need. So....what's stopping you? Fears? Get over it. Just do it. Why? Cause you said so.

This seems to be the tricky part, our belief that we have to do a lot to "make it work." If it's always working, all the time, then it was never not working. I guess it's more a case of allowing. At this point I write my intentions in the morning, and in the evening.

It's that "inbetween time" when life as you know it APPEARS to be the same, that you have to stay focused.

Another thing i've noticed is a lack of committment or real decision. If its clear that you will get what you want and are willing to work for it or pay most any price for it, regardless of magical means or not, it seems that IM works better.

I thinkt hat's why "successful" people do better with the LoA, because they're already used to cutting off all other possibilities and focusing solely on what they want. This basic decisiveness is another one of the reasons I suggest IM as an advanced topic after basic goal setting and achievement have been figured out.

Goal setting has been affective for me. My only question is, does that not limit you to getting things a certain way? How do you set a goal, work to achieve it, and still be open to your intentions coming in an easier way that you didn't see when you set the goal?
