Default Is this sounding doable?

I am torn on where to put this post. I do believe in LoA but I also believe in LoA more on the lines of... "I have to do the work." BUT.. in order to do the work, I have to get my mind in the right place. So... I guess it could go here. I also do believe that when we are thinking clearly we see the signs and opportunities.

So...

Some things I am working on and would like to intend into my life:

~ I intend to earn a college degree (finish college).

~ I intend to have a career that pays well, and offers me much time off. I am appreciated in my career, and I love waking up to go to work!

~ I intend to buy a new house and rent my current house out so we can continue to earn equity on it. We find a great renter who causes us no hassles and always pays on time.


Then I thought to think of the emotions that the above statements stir with in me and practice BEING those emotions:

~ Satisfied
~ Fulfilled
~ Contentment
~ Peace
~ Happiness
~ Love
~ Freeing


Now.... I had trouble coming up with the words. I am trying to transform from a fairly negative thinker (underneath the positve facade) so this is a bit new to me.

Does this sound completely silly?

Since I have been thinking of this stuff do you know I have seen ads for the university I used to attend ALL OVER the place????

It won't be an easy ride, but if I stay focused this time I can get it done.

But how does all this sound? Should I be thinking of something else?

Telling yourself you feel positive is not how to feel positive. You should look into your negative feelings and determine why you feel negative. In my experience, LOA does NOT work if you have sub conscience feelings that are negative.

I found that I needed to look at each negative feeling and determine why I really felt that way. For example: on the subject of renting property to a renter. I had feelings of fear that the renters wouldn’t pay, or they would ruin my property. I took the time to get rid of these fears. If the renter does not pay, I will evict them and find another renter that will pay. On the topic of ruining my property, I worked to alleviate my fears by stating I would charge a little more for damages and I would charge a security deposit. I would also check on the property to make sure they would take care of it.

To make a long post longer…Just make sure you understand WHY you have the negative feelings, not just saying I feel good about it, if you really don’t.

Okay, I see what you are saying. I will work on that. On the renter part I really do feel good about it, but my dh is the one that is negative and thinking we can't do it. But, I do have fears about what degree to seek and what my career will be... so I do still have some fine tuning to do. I just hate being in limbo, I want to start movihg forward!

I just need something to change here. I am so incredibly unhappy as things are. You know it's a double edge sword. The old, "how can you feel good when you don't like the way things are" dilemma.

I am stuck, stuck, stuck................... I am trying to make changes but I don't even know what changes to make.

I feel like a failure even admitting I am not happy. In my family you just buck up and survive. You do what it takes to get things done. Changing a career won't guarantee happiness. Etc, etc, etc.

But, I am NOT HAPPY working in this house for 11 hours a day!!! I am not happy that I had to cancel my vacation in March. I am NOT happy with this house. I am NOT happy! I can't fake it. So that just means I am stuck here forever since I am so incredibly unhappy I can't even find anything positive?

Boy, you ARE stuck! If you're interested, I have a coaching technique that may help you.

The first thing to look at is to articulate what you're feeling, and you sure have done that! "I am stuck and unhappy." This particular "stuck and unhappy" has a special flavor, unlike other stuck and unhappy's, like when you can't find the solution to a crossword puzzle. So maybe there is a more precise name for that? If not, no matter. Whatever it's name is, look: when is the earliest time you can remember feeling that feeling? Maybe you were a little kid or an adolescent or a teenager? Then see if you can see an even earlier moment where you felt that way. How old were you? What time of day was it? Who was there? What happened? What was said?

Whether you think you CAN or whether you think you CAN'T...
Either way... YOU ARE RIGHT!!!

I've made some minor changes...
Some things I think I CAN and would like to experience in my life:

~ I CAN earn a college degree (finish college).

~ I CAN have a career that pays well, and offers me much time off. I am appreciated in my career, and I love waking up to go to work!

~ I CAN buy a new house and rent my current house out so we CAN continue to earn equity on it. We CAN find a great renter who causes us no hassles and always pays on time.

Try and stay focused more on what you WANT, more than anything... Don't focus on what currently is, what could be, what was, any obstacles you currently perceive, or even the "how" these thing may happen. ONLY focus on what you WANT (your DESIRES), (those three things above) and ALLOW them to happen NATURALLY. They WILL happen, I assure you, But you must make it absolutely CLEAR as to what it is you WANT, by focusing only on what it is you WANT.
