Thumbs up LoA: why state what you'll do in return?

Hi all,

Regarding the Law of Attraction: I read in various theories that when visualising a desire you need to state what you will do in return for reaching that particular goal. Napoleon Hill was one of the first to argue this.

Of course I am very much willing to do "something in return" but doesn't specifying exactly what rule out all other possibilities?

For example, if I were to wish a beautiful beachfront villa and I would promise to "pay" for it with my writing skills, wouldn't that rule out winning one in a lottery, inheriting a sum of money or finding a job that doesn't involve any writing at all?

I wonder what your views on this (or experiences with this) are. Looking forward to your replies!

Hi GranCanaria,

That's an interesting view. I am new to LOA but i've never heard this theory before. I thought the universe was abundant, so never though doing something in return was necessary. I may incorporate that into my intention from now on and see what happens.

Default Download that little book here:

Hi Vee,

Nice to read your reply. I'm following your "you bring everything into your life" thread with great interest!

If you want to read Napoleon Hills Think And Grow Rich, you can download it at http://www.devnic.com/ThinkandGrowRich.pdf.

I for myself think it would more room for the Universe to fulfill my dream if I just concentrated on that dream and didn't worry about what to do in return. The path to my destination will then automatically appear, I'd say.

Keep them coming!

GranCanaria

I have found that either way is acceptable. You can still manifest your beach home by writing... if that's what your subconscious mind wants as well. I don't specify how I want to get things too often, but from time to time, I find it helpful if I truly have a certain route I would like to take.

As I've said in other threads, it all boils back down to what you believe, consciously and subconsciously. If your beliefs don't match up with what you want, you won't be getting it anytime soon, and if you do, you won't be able to keep it.

I recommend getting a coach for this very reason. I'm actually in search of one for myself. The third-party perspective will help you see so many things that you could never see yourself. If you find a good coach, he will also be able to help you get rid of those withholding beliefs.
