| Hey guys, one of the many ways I've seen people try to use LoA ever since this forum was launched was to find a way to attract the perfect job, the perfect career opportunity, or whatever they need in order to make money doing what they love. I'm currently working on a mentorship program to help people become what I call "Inspired Money Makers" which is basically people who love what they do for a living and make money with it. For example, Steve Pavlina could be considered an Inspired Money Maker doing what he does right now, more so than if he was working at a "job" and even more so than when he was running his software development company. Anyway, I'm gathering survey data to hear what are some of the biggest challenges people are having trying to make money doing what they love. If you're interested in this topic, and would like to help me out by filling out the quick, one question survey, you can find it here: What are the biggest challenges you face trying to make money doing what you love? Thanks! |

| BTW, if anyone is worried about the fact that I'm asking for your email address, I don't think you need to put one in to submit the form. I ask for it so that I can notify anyone who left feedback once the program is launched in case they are interested. If you'd prefer, you can also answer on here instead. THanks! |

| If you read his second post tk, you don't have to put in an email addy... He can't spam you with out that. I don't believe it's paul's intention to harvest emails for spamming purposes... There are certainly better ways than that. |

The only reason I have and ask for your email on the form is because I would like to be able to contact the people who fill out the form once I finish producing my mentorship program and offer them a special price for helping me out. You can fill out the form answering the question without putting in an email address if you'd like and it will still take your reply. Go ahead and try it out right now if you wish. Just answer the question, leave the email field blank and click SUBMIT and you'll see that it accepts your response. As I mentioned above, if you don't feel comfortable filling out the form even still, then you can simply answer the question here on the forum. If you still don't feel comfortable with those options, then just ignore this thread. You are probably not part of the target market which I'm trying to help with my product. BTW, out of the 43 responses I've received so far, I have learned A LOT which will hopefully help me to produce a much better product for my audience by researching the areas that people are having problems with. Out of all those responses, only 1 so far has elected not to include their email address. |

Whenever I find myself on a site that I don't want to give them my info, such as when I ended up on a sales page for a power weightlifting site a few weeks back, I don't give them my info if (1) The product doesn't seem right for me, or (2) The timing doesn't seem right to me, or (3) It's just not a big enough problem for me to seek help. In either case, I'm not THEIR target market, and that's ok. When I have my program finished, I already know that out of every 100 people that I present it to, only around 2% will actually go ahead with it because it's either not the right product for them right now, not the right timing, or it's just not a big enough problem in their lives right now to take action. That doesn't mean I judge the 98 people who don't sign up. THey are no better/worse than the people who do sign up. They simply aren't my target market. THey could be next week. Quote:

| Hey Paul, Good job on doing some research before creating your product. One thing from a marketers perspective, you may want to create a small paragraph, 3-5 sentences explaining the page. Put it between the question and the text area. It should briefly introduce yourself, why you are doing this research, and ensure the reader that they will not be spammed. I'm glad you're getting off to a good start. Research is KEY before you create a product. Otherwise you just end up with a flop. Keep it up!

Originally I emailed the link to my email list with a paragraph explaining what I'm doing, so there was no need to repeat myself. THen I put the link on here and I briefly explained it as well. I wasn't really thinking about traffic from other sources, but now that I'm thinking about doing that...like an adsense campaign to get even more feedback I'll do exactly that. Explain what this is all about. Have you done a lot of Internet marketing yourself? Have you produced products? |

I've not produced my own products (fully), but I have helped other people develop and do marketing campaigns. I am currently working on a product I like to call "The Fear Exterminator", so this will be my first full fledged project. I'm going to be putting a page up similar to yours in a day or so and hit it hard with adsense so I can see what sort of product people are looking for. PM me if you'd like some help sometime. Cheers.
