Sommore on detachment

I've been thinking a bit more on detachment and the ideal state of manifesting and I remembered the Tao Te Ching (the imagery of the Tao as a river and the use of that image in the last Abraham-Hicks book doesn't strike me as just a coincidence). I found a friend's post on the sort of state:

As Tao Te Ching implies, the tighter hold on to things, the more out of reach they become. Herrigel’s Zen in the Art of Archery had a very neat method of illustrating this very simple, yet widely ignored fact of life. Herrigel’s whole allegory about drawing the bow in an effortless manner. His master insisted that not a single muscle must be tense when the huge bow is drawn and kept drawn. He learned that to let the Tao flow in an unobstructed mannerr, one must draw the bow effortlessly. In fact, Herrigel learned that when he was truly good at it, he wasn’t drawing the bow at all. It was being drawn by itself!

The feeling of detachment is not no-desire, or somehow Vulcan. It is free, easy, light,happy and things just seem to happen by themselves.

With or without IM, its a great feeling to be in.

The lasar focus on a particular result - desired or otherwise - doesn't seem to do it.
