A lot of the things I've been reading on LOA state that whatever you focus on you attract, and whatever you don't focus on or give your attention to you don't attract. One even goes so far as to say that if you do not pay attention to something it will cease to exist. "Whatever you give psychic energy to, you are giving it mental life to exist. That is why the more you place your mind on something, the more it lives. The less you do, the less power it has to remain alive. When you do not pay attention to something, it ceases to exist over time." This doesn't make sense, because the things in your life that you do not want you often just neglect or are in denial of. They are too painful or undesirable to confront, so in our "wishful" thinking, we think if we just ignore the problems they will go away. They usually never do though. They usually just get worse until they are so bad that you are forced to deal with them and put your attention on them to make them better. Usually also, the effects you deal with are far worse then if you had just dealt with them and confronted them in the early stage, instead of procrastinating. Some good examples of this are health problems. I'm not talking about dwelling on how bad the health problem is or worrying about it, but just in confronting the reality of it directly and putting energy into dealing with it. Weather that is just seeing doctors to diagnose the problem and finding a treatment plan to stick to for it, or seeing a dentist and getting over the painful procedure that you'd rather just avoid and pretended didn't exist. Or many other things we just ignore and pretend are alright, but aren't. When we don't clean our house, the mess doesn't just go away by not paying attention to it. |

You are either creating deliberately (by choosing your thoughts about a certain topic, or just in general), or creating by default. When you ignore something, you are creating by default. Sounds like you're just starting out. I'd suggest reading the posts by Steve on the subject, Abraham-Hicks material (some free stuff is online at their site, google it), Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra (you can probably find it online, google around), The Law of Attraction by Michael Losier, The Power of Now (very important for you), and probably a few regular PD books about responsibiltiy and choice. You always have a choice. Additionally, for now, don't get hung up on action or non-action, just remain open to the possibility of your intentions coming into being through ways other than just direct action, or subconscious action. |

| Except, once you've been introduced to LOA, by ignoring something it will be almost impossible to think "this is default", you'd be thinking "I'm deliberately creating by default" so it stops being default. And make damn sure that you're actually ready to ALLOW (meaning, getting good stuff won't affect your perception of yourself of someone who doesn't deserve to get the good stuff) whatever good stuff you're after, no matter what action you may or may not think is necessary to get it. Hmm. I guess I'm confused. I'm new, but really I didn't mean that I didn't create the things that I didn't consciously choose to create. I know I did create them, even just out of pure neglect and actions and choices I have made. Not necessarily from my mind alone, but actual cause and effect actions. However, I don't understand the concept of uncreating something simply by not thinking about it and not paying any attention to it. I've never seen this work. I've always had an avoidant personality, and avoiding paying attention to problems or what I don't want to deal with has always already been my way. I don't have fear of cancer, no. But I do have health issues and symptoms that I have ignored for a long time and have never sought treatment for. I don't even know what they are, because I have never seen anyone to get them diagnosed, I only know the symptoms. After ignoring them for years and years and just thinking of myself in great normal health, they have not gone away at all, and are actually worse now. I still can't bring myself to deal with them and still just want to deny that anything is wrong at all. I understand the concept of applying intention and thought of health mentally and emotionally to help heal ourselves. I haven't tried it yet, but should we not also physically and practically deal with these issues, not just try to apply this LOA magic to them? Or is LOA enough without physical intervention? I don't have time to read a ton of books. I have the Power of Now, which I'm reading bits of when I have time at night. I also have Psycho-cybernetics which is good, and I have seen the "Secret" movie a long time ago, I've also read Seven Spiritual laws back in college. How do you get yourself ready to ALLOW? |
