Arrow I'm manifesting 3500 euros a month starting March 2008

The short:

Hi! I'm new here. 26-year-old guy from The Netherlands.
It is my intention to manifest an income of 3500 euros a month starting March 2008, doing what I love to do.
First time I'm actually really going to commit myself to putting the LOA into action.
Very exciting but crazy thing to do, making me feel a bit insecure.
Would like some accountability, therefore I'm posting this here.
Will update daily.
ktnxbai!

The long:

Hello everyone!

Gosh, I don't really know how to start this, just bumping in as I am between all the conversation going on in here... I see people talking about a lot of interesting things!

Anyway, I'll try to tell you all in short who I am and why I'm intruding

I'm a 26-year-old guy from The Netherlands. (Today is my birthday actually.) I'm very fond of 'hacking life', as I call it: understanding what's going on and using the knowledge I gain to develop myself. I'm especially interested in states of awareness, as well as the question "How shapable is the world we experience?".

Last October I moved away from the place I had been living for five years, knowing that a new phase of my life was about to start. Since then I have had a lot of new experiences and developed quite rapidly.

Right now I'm living in a lively city center. I have a great social life and spend a lot of money. I have no job, a great social life and I'm spending lots of money. However, I need to start working on a plan to actually do more than sleep, read and socialize. I need to start generating new income from March 2008, that's two months from now.

I've been reading a lot about the Law of Attraction and things related this year. I have been reminded again and again of the power of visualisation, acting like you actually are where you want to be, focussing your mind, writing down your goals etc. and I have been practicing all of these things to some extent I guess, some more conscious than others. Nothing really, really, reaaaaaally big though.

So now, my friends, the time has come for me to actually do a really brave, exciting and scary thing: consciously start to manifest an income from a source that is yet unknown to me.

I used to be an employee for a computer company. I'm good with computers, but I don't want to work with machines no more. They suck the life out of me. Also, I don't want to be an employee again. I want to make my own money, all for myself. Steve's posts on this subject were a great inspiration, thank you Steve.

So I've decided that from March I want to be making 3500 euros a month, doing things I love. Why that amount? It's the salary of a fairly skilled IT professional. A salary I would never get, so I can't fool myself thinking 'I can always go back to computer business to reach my goal'. Going back is not my goal.

It's also a pretty decent salary to be making. It's something I can believe in. It fits me. I think it's a good start. You know, like, I had to choose some amount, and going for 10.000 or 100.000 a month would just stress me out, so I'm starting small; faith like a mustard seed.

Also, this is not about the amount, but about finding a source of income that fits me. I could be acting, I could be a rapper, I could be a writer, I could be travelling the world. I want to be creative, I want to be me and do something I can put my soul into, and I want to learn and progress in life. So actually I just want to _live_, and then realize I'm actually making money from just living!

So this is the intention/'mantra' I start with:

I make 3500 euros a month, doing what I love to do, and am grateful for that!

And I'm putting my story and intention out on these boards because I need some accountability. I will be posting a status update every day, detailing what I did that day to draw my goal into reality. Plus what results I got, since I believe a lot unbelievable things will start to happen in the next two months.

But only if I keep putting my energy into this. So please, if you're with this, and I seem to be slacking, send me messages, remind me of my goal and the responsibility I took upon me to keep you all posted.

Thanks in advance then, and well,

here starts the adventure!

O, and feel free to ask me any questions, I'll be happy to answer them. Please just don't start any discussion in this thread on how much you believe LOA to or to not work etc., create a separate thread for that. This one should be about me and my goal. Not meaning to be an *******, just to keep things focussed

Default December 29th, 30th

And an update post already. Since I need to get in the habit. I actually came up with this 'I need to put that LOA into action and I need to make some plan!' yesterday morning at six AM.

So yesterday I thought about it, went to this forum, read some posts, followed some links, read some 'mr wang says so', very good.

I installed a new copy of WordPress on my local machine to have a place to store all the writing I will do for this project.

I phrased my goal in the sentence I make 3500 euros a month, doing what I love to do, and am grateful for that!

I wrote '€3500,-' on the chalkboard on the door of the restroom.

I wrote some thoughts down.

I wrote about how it would feel to be making 3500 euros a month and what I could do with that for my family.

And the project was in my head all day.

Tomorrow I woke up thinking '3500 euros... 3500 euros...' I might even have been walking around like a zombie, mumbling these words with a scary look in my eyes

But I was a bit stressed. Feeling a bit unsecure about it all, feeling a bit strange in the head, as if my head was still trying to create some space for the fact that I was actually going to go through with this insane plan...

But when I was sitting in the train later on, on my way to meet and have breakfast with my two older sisters in another city, near the end of the journey I decided to listen to some music, and the lyrics of the song that came up, which I must have heard many times before, suddenly struck me and encouraged me, cheering me up. The lyrics were these:

Quote:
There’s a foul taste in my mouth today
I’m looking at the world from my fragile bubble
Turning me inside out, tipping me upside down
Undermining, suffocating pressure

I will find my own space to breath
New life living in me

Go with the sun
Reach for the hand of a guardian angel
Go with the sun
Leaving the past that would hold me down
Go with the sun
Breaking the chains of a life of tradition
Go with the sun
Leaving this place for another time

Never look back into yesterday
No pillar of salt in the desert sunshine
Being the here and now and seeing beyond my dreams
Stimulating, celebrating

I will find my own space to breath
New life living in me

(and then some more repetition)
As sung by Shaz Sparks in the song Go with the sun by UK-based group DBA. A bit dry to read, misses a lot emotion without hearing the actual song, but the lyrics do give an impression about how it helped me. A song I'll be keeping on my playlist for the days to come.

And then tonight I wrote the post above, which really helped me get into this project some more. Now it's time to go to sleep, then tomorrow I'll read mr wang's How to write down your goals and so some writing and some visualising.

And then tomorrow night off course there'll be new year's eve! To everyone reading this, I wish you a great time and a happy new year!

Hey there, 3500! It's nice to see another Dutchy here
Please do keep us up to date, I always find it inspiring to read other's experiences, especially if they're close to home

I do have a question though. I tend to write down my intentions in English because I can't find a fitting Dutch way to write them down. It just sounds weird somehow. How do you write down your intentions in Dutch, if you write them in Dutch at all?

@ Jack: Hi Jack, thanks for the congratulations and the positive vibes!

@ JMononoetoe: Hey man, thanks for the interest! Interesting question you pose there... I often translate English words we use in Dutch to Dutch, or ask myself aloud 'why don't they just call product x ... (translating its English name to Dutch)?' People then tell me 'it sounds weird' and I disagree. I think most people (in NL) just don't really think about the meaning of a name, especially when it is in English. It's just a question of being used to brand names, titles of parties et cetera being in English. Fortunately there are also a lot of Dutch names that people are totally used to, not thinking about their meaning every time they pronounce one.

So as for your question, it might be that you're reading about IM, the LOA etc. in English all the time (are you?), and therefore when you start practicing what you read about in English, you automatically do this in English too. Your mind is just used to being in 'English mode' when it's working with these subjects I guess!

Maybe if you would first read some good Dutch writings and then start writing down your intentions, you will have less trouble formulating them in Dutch and/or accepting how that sounds.

As for me, I'm using both languages when I'm writing about my intentions. Sometimes I'm just definitely in English mode and just continue in English when writing. But Dutch is no problem either, only indeed I need to consciously make that switch back to my mother tongue, haha.

My current 'formula' is:
I make 3500 euros a month being a writer and am grateful for that!

(Writer?! Yep, more on that later.)

Originally already written in English. In Dutch it would translate as:
Ik verdien 3500 euro per maand door schrijver te zijn en ben daar dankbaar voor.

I have to admit, I had to think about that one twice, changed it a few times until it captured exactly what I was saying in English. In Dutch, I noticed, one would rather / more automatically say that one makes 3500 euros writing instead of by just being a writer. But my whole point is that I'm being a writer, but I might make the money because someone wants to interview me, wants me to feature in a television show or just wants to give me money. So yeah, finding a fitting way to write down an intention might take some more effort for us than just putting it down in English. Hah, that's weird!

Coming up next: progress post!

Thumbs up Progress

So I started this saying:

I make 3500 euros a month, doing what I love to do, and am grateful for that!

I knew that I would have to become more specific about what exactly it is that I love to do, but since there are so many things I love to do that I could potentially make money from, I just started out like this.

In the past few days I've gotten used to the idea of me doing this project, and the idea of making 3500 euros a month doing what I love to do started to land a bit. I have written about how I would feel making 3500 euros a month doing what I love to do and I have visualized me living a 3500-euro-doing-what-I-love-to-do-lifestyle too.

I thought about what exactly it is I would like to be doing, since I needed to narrow this down a bit to be able to get an idea of where I'm going. So I had some ideas, but I finally decided I would be a writer. So now I am. It's that easy :P

That didn't just come out of nowhere though, I have loved writing for a long time, and actually decided to be a writer a few months ago. I have been writing a bit since then, but lacked focus and have never really gotten into it. So now I'm picking this up again, this time with a stronger focus!

My next step will be to think about where to go from here. I know I want to write a novel, but I don't know exactly which concept--I have a few--I want to go with. So I guess I choose, and then I write. And I keep visualising me making 3500 euros a month, since a lot more needs to happen than just writing a book in order to have the money flow in!

To everyone reading this: happy new year & all the best wishes! 2008 is going to be great!

Good luck 3500

I'm very interested in what you are doing, and this year I am going to to something similar.

You say you want to earn money doing something that you enjoy, what type of things could this be, do you mean like current hobbies, or something you have yet to discover?

Cheers
Jon

ps Happy Birthday!!!!

Default Progress report

@ Jon Tweddle: Hi Jon, thanks for the luck & birthday wishes!

So it's been a few days again. Since I started to focus on being a writer I set some daily goals for myself to get into the habit of writing. So I've been writing quite a lot in the past few days.

However, being focussed on writing, plus there were some other things occupying my mind, I didn't take the time to write about and visualize making at least 3500 euros a month. I didn't do any visualizing or goal writing Thursday and Friday.

Anyway, it's good to have this forum, since having this topic here I feel I need to account for my progress. This helps me not to let go of my goals.

I just did some goal writing on making 3500 euros a month being a writer, as well as on how my life as a writer looks like (should/would look like, but I prefer talking about it as if it's already manifested of course ).

This goal writing is very interesting. Thursday I was writing a short story, and the easiest topic I could come up with was one close home: a story about the day of a writer living in a city. Hmm, sounds like it could be me ^^

So while writing this, I started to become this person. It wasn't even intended to be a goal writing session, but it ended up showing me the power in goal writing. Very cool!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some more writing to do

Default Progress report

So it's been a while and I've not been focussing 100% on making 3500 euros a month in the past days, BUT I've learned a lot!

Firstly, I have been focussing a bit on my goal, writing about it and drawing about it. It feels amazing doing that! I felt that the more details I fill in, the more the whole thing starts to become like a vivid memory of something that already happened!

Then, I have tripped on psychedelic mushrooms last week and it was a mind blowing experience! Things I experienced:
- all is one
- I create everything in my life
- all information is 'out there', if I need something, I just need to attract it

That last point, it's as if I browsed "the catalogue of the universe", as someone in The Secret called it. It exists!

These things... I knew about them, I had read about them, I believed in them, but in this trip, I experienced them, and in my visionary state I could totally see how true they are, how everything really works like that.

Since in day-to-day life we're not at that level of awareness, we need to meditate and focus on our goals a lot, in order to attract what we want, to connect to the information we need.

I read a decent article on lifehack.org about focussing:
Three Basic Steps to Get Your Desire with the Least Effort - Lifehack.org

In the days after my psychedelic trip I have been thinking and writing about my experience and life in general a lot. I feel more connected to other people and nature. Also, I found more rest, I can be in the moment much better after this trip, since I understand that only few things really matter. Namely, to love, to create and to be astonished with all the beauty in this world.

Cheers,

3500.

Now that's a very interesting story!

I'll be following your evolution for sure.

It's nice that you have psychedelic mushrooms available in about any shop around the corner over there. I remember doing a city trip to Amsterdam a few months ago and seeing them all over the place. I was amazed.

Anyway, I wish you all the best.

Shortly after writing my last post I stumbled upon this thread:
Choose your own adventure.

What starseed writes here in his/her second post is exactly what I experienced in my trip, and I'm grateful for his words since he put in words very clearly the insights I experienced. Reading these words a few hours ago brought back that state of being in the moment, deeply realising that somewhere all is one and that all I need to do is be astonished by all the beauty surrounding me. So I did just that, taking a walk through the historic city center

@mintyway: hi and welcome to the thread! 'Any shop around the corner' is a bit of an overstatement, I think most cities only have one or two so called smartshops. Amsterdam is... well, Amsterdam

Btw, my housemate is from Gent. I love her Flemish ^_^

Hoi 3500, alles goed? I'm Dutch too, though living in Spain. Great to see people "our age" interested in the LoA. I think you have just attracted a great suggestion from me!

I work from home as a copywriter and found (and still find) quite some assignments on freelance.nl - meer dan 65.000 geregistreerde freelancers en opdrachtgevers.. Okay, I had to subscribe to it but the 30 or so euros a year have proved to be a true investment. And besides, if you want to make money, you need to learn how to spend it happily. Go and see for yourself! I'm not making 3500 a month (yet), but getting close...

I have noticed how meditating about financial abundance gives me great ideas. Feel free to borrow from these fantastic business ideas "the Universe" gave me:
  • A vegan supermarket chain
  • A travel agency at which every trip costs €99 all incl.
  • Cars that run like bicycles: you do the pedalling!

I'll post some more as they come along. For now: good luck manifesting those 3500 euros a month. Remember that many people make more than that and that it should really be a piece of (space) cake landing that salary!

Hou me op de hoogte,

André

Well, I haven't been updating this and I haven't been solely focussing on making 3500 euros a month starting next March but I have learned SO MUCH in the past weeks!

I picked up the book Think and grow rich by Napoleon Hill at the public library last week. A book written in 1937 with timeless information. I haven't even read the whole book, just been browsing and reading pieces, because most of the knowledge in the book is already in my system. A.k.a., I have grown into the right mindset to grow rich! I feel that power in me with which I can achieve anything I want to. My mindset really changed a lot in the past six months or so. I think big, I feel rich and só alive!

As for now, I don't know if I will be making 3500 euros in March. Did I say I needed to generate new income in March? Well, that was because otherwise I would start to eat up the money I have reserved for a vacation to Japan. Anyway, I have now decided to go to Japan before I'm going to start a new business or whatever, so I'm planning to go in four weeks. Also, somehow at this point I have more money left than I thought I would. I sold some stuff that I had to get rid of anyway, which made me quite some money, and there's some other unexpected money flowing in as well, and also some ways to do things cheaper I hadn't thought of before.

So there you have it: I'm rich, I live in the moment--a very useful 'skill' to be productive and creative--and I have a lot of plans to earn lots of money in the future!

André GranCanaria, thanks for the ideas! I signed up for a free account at that site and browsed a bit. It's not what I want to be doing though
Anyway, it's always good to hear from people running their own business, shows that it's something perfectly achievable!
