Default IM/PD-related Christmas presents?

To be honest I wasn't sure where exactly to post this, but seeing as I've been mostly hanging around in the IM forum, and that's the topic that interests me most, I figured this was as good a place as any, so here goes!

I was wondering what PD or IM related stuff people are getting for Christmas? I'm at a bit of a loss for ideas but would definitely love a new book/audio book/DVD, or maybe even several, so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

Pete

I'd recommend reading the other parts to Celestine Prophecy if you haven't already. I think there is 4 parts total or something.

THe movie was ok, but not as good as the book.

It was good as a refresher if you read the book a long time ago.

I bought a copy.

My first thought was books, CDs, DVDs and whatnot. But the more I thought about it, the more I thought that those are good to get some background & theory. That's all good, of course, but there's often a disconnect between learning theories and putting them into practice.

So maybe something like a customized "dream board" or some such thing. You know, with pictures on it of, say, fancy houses on the beach, or a BMW K1200GT (heh heh... there's a pic of one of those on my refrigerator, but there's no chick in my photo), maybe a Bentley, a yacht, private jet, other stuff that the recipient might yearn for.

Last visit to the bookstore I noticed a gift box set of three Alexander/Hicks books; that would be a nice gift.

I think a really nice holiday gift would be "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle. Especially if you include some warm socks with it.

cdn2wheeler, you want a K1200? Yuk! They're ugly!

But if you give me your honda when you get your K1200, I'll forgive you

I've just read this and re-read it.

It's a very spiritual book.

My favorite part is when Tolle, the deep and meaningful ancient-mystic-type of guru buys a lottery ticket and wins $1000, enough to finish The Power of Now.

That made me laugh.

His whole premise of momentary presence is fundamental. He underates egoism to the point of subdual, but he has some good thoughts that are well put forward. The multiple category style is a plus.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I was actually watching a preview of The Celestine Prophecy the other day and thought it looked a bit... odd! But seeing as you guys think it's good I'm gonna give it a go - I think I'll go for the book because I generally find they're more engaging than their film equivalents.

The Key also looks good but it's only available in hardback at the moment so I'm gonna wait a while for that one.

cdn2wheeler, you make a good point about spending too much time learning the theory, and I think to a certain extent that's something I am guilty of, in more than one area of my life. Having said that, I've already created a vision board - I made a digital one from pictures I found on the internet and I've got it set as my desktop wallpaper so I see it all the time. I also meditate and state my intentions daily so maybe I'm finally moving beyond learning into actually DOING.

Also, I have to agree with Rose, that BMW is ugly :P What you want is one of these (this is on my wall, along with my own personal race track amongst other things).

Thanks for all the recommendations, and if you've got any more then keep them coming - I've got a few days left until the Amazon Christmas deadline!

Cheers,

Pete
