Hi everyone. Today I read one of Steve's latest posts: "2 Mental Blocks to Making Money". It reminded me of a post in Dan Millman's blog about what it takes to be successful. Steve's post reminded me of that blog entry. You can find my thoughts on that at How to reach your goals « Reflections of a crazy Colombian What do you think? Diego |

I think that it wasn't worth it for me to go to your blog to find a quotation that could have easily been posted here and linked to there. I also think that there were no thoughts on the similarity between what Millman said to what Pavlina said. Heck I don't remember the entry that clearly except for the main points and I dunno what you're talking about, woulda liked a refresher. So, overall, seemed a little like link advertising. I had to go through three links to find anything useful (which was the interview with Millman). On the other hand, that quotation is very interesting, because it does show the error of thinking too much. As someone posted recently, my body can easily handle running for twenty minutes, but its my mind that resists like hell. I realized this recently, too, when I was washing dishes and thought I might pop open the cabinet and look at the broken pipe under there to potentially replace it, but then I told myself I was too lazy to do that. IE, I wanted to do it, and then i told myself not to do it. Weird how insanely the mind works. This is what Millman said: To progress toward your goals, please choose one of the following methods: (1) You can find a way to quiet your mind, create empowering beliefs and positive self-talk, find your focus and affirm your power to free your emotions and visualize positive outcomes so that you can develop the confidence to generate the courage to find the determination to make the commitment to feel sufficiently motivated to do whatever it is you need to do. (2) Or you can just do it. |

RT Wolf, my intention was not to 'link advertise'. Steve's original post suggested that if you want to be successful, you need to put action behind your intentions - simply meditating and setting goals will not suffice. Dan's post says something similar: Don't put so much mysticism behind the whole 'motivational' side of things. Just go out, put energy into it, and do it. Considering that both Dan's and Steve's background is one of 'spiritual self-actualisation' (my own label, not theirs), I found their perspective almost perplexing. Yet it was totally spot on. In my last post, I had very little time so I was rather succinct, and 'leveraged' something I had written before. Next time I will attempt to spend more time on doing it right. Cheers, Diego |

Feh, tis all good. The fact that you did reply (humbly, I might add) suggests to me that you're not just hawking your site. It was a poor combination of factors. That was your first post and I've seen posts where no or little information is given and just a link, nor any context and those end up being signs of a link advertisor. That is an interesting way to look at it, too. I think that what I call Level 1 PD (just getting yourself to become more productive and decisive and action-oriented) is a good suggested prerequisite for getting into what I consider a more advanced topic (IM). Action may not be necessary for manifestation in all cases, but I believe the decisiveness, and the resolution to take action if necessary is a good way to show committment to an intention. What do you mean by spiritual self-actualization? |

RT Wolf, just thought I'd let you know that after thinking of what you said in your original reply to my post, I decided to expand on my reflections. I hope you find some of the new material of value. Because I edited it, the previous link no longer works; you can get to the updated post by following this link -The Crazy Colombian |
