| I am a big believer in the law of attraction as well as aware of how we "pray all day" or "intend all day" with every thought, word and deed. that being said, here's what I'm experiencing. 1. My wife and I have one child and a nice little house with nice little back yard and it's all paid off!! Our child is young though and we have decided that we want to move away from the busy, busy road we're on. We can't really walk or ride bikes easily where we live because of hte degree of fast traffic (55 mph 30 feet from our door) 2. we've found a house nearly double the price of ours - we can afford it but I'm having conflicting thoughts and feelings. It has nice neigborhood, in fact everything we have been looking for, including neigbors who have children that go to same school and grade as our little one. Our plan is to sell in 12-14 years and travel (and downsize to small home here). This time frame means that our money outlay SHOULD be returned to us when we sell, unless something unprecidented happens OR we pay WAY too much. 3. The conflicts I'm feeling are sort of like underlying beliefs. I'll do something different here and just "list them out" as they "whisper annoyngly" in my ear!! a. you're falling victim to the "keep up with the Jones'" b. who do you think you are? you don't need everything to be perfect! so what if there's a lot of traffic. you've got a nice back yard and your house if paid for, stop trying to have everything perfect c. look at all the other houses on this street? are they all "wrong"? why can't you behappy here. That's about it. I want the house, my wife wants the house and I know our little one will LOVE it. Maybe it's just normal ol' "buyers remorse" before the buy. Anyone experience similar type of resistance? I suppose my main confusion is "what's just fear, and what's our own intuition guiding us?" Thanks and Bless all!

| Hi Ken, My first thought is that you are focusing on the wrong things. One of my favorite quotes from the movie "The Secret", is, "Focus on what you want, rather than what you don't want." We have to decide that we want to focus on what we want. If we focus on what we don't want we will get more of what we don't want. I just finished, "Law of Attraction, The Science of Attracting More of What You Want and Less of What You Don't", by Michael Losier. This is a book that I recommend for anyone wanting a step by step plan of how to apply LOA. Losier stresses the fact that we need to change our vocabulary. The words don't, not, and no, need to be taken out of our daily conversation. These words sabotage any good intentions we may have. Here's a passage from the book. "Each time you talk about what you DON'T want, in that moment you are giving it your attention and energy. When you ask yourself what you DO want, the answer will have created a new sentence with new words. When your words change, your vibrations changes, and the best news of all is that you can only send out one vibration at a time." So there is hope. You can create your ideal habitat by making some simple changes. This is an exercise that Losier lays out to help change the way we word our intentions. It's called the "Clarity Through Contrast" process. a. You say, "I don't want to feel like I need to keep up with the Jones." Change it to, "I want everyone else to feel like they have to keep up with the LaVoie's. b. You say, "I don't need everything to be perfect! So what if there's a lot of traffic. I've got a nice back yard and your house if paid for. Stop trying to have everything perfect. Change it to, "I want everything to be perfect! I want to live on a beautiful and tranquil street. I want a nice back yard and house that is paid for and everything is perfect." c. You say I don't want to move because the houses here aren't so bad. I can be happy if I settle." Change it to, "I want to live where all the houses are great. I want to be happy because I refused to settle. I think you can see by changing your words, your focus changes to what you really want. Remeber, you can only send out what vibration at a time, so if you really focus on what you want, the Universe promises to answer. If you focus on these new words rather than your current situation, your current situation will soon become your ideal situation. I'm really excited about what is in my future since reading this book. I have change my words and amazing thing have been manifesting almost immediately. It is something that everyone can apply. Get a copy of Losiers book. It really gives a good detailed description with exercises on how to really attract what you want. Blessings. |

| Sorry. One more thing. Another great book about money is "The Science of Getting Rich", by Wallace D. Wattles. Along with Losiers', these two books have taught me to put everything I want into the "process" of become real. The "process" is speeding up as I write this. C-ya |

The opportunity came up to purchase a 5.5acre lot with a house slightly bigger than our old one, but it meant my mortgage payments would go up from $750/m (I had a big portion paid off) to about $4,000/m, which meant I would have to "work extra" to pay for that. (Meaning I would have to find ways to manifest more money). I decided to make the move, even though it would have been easier to stay where we were, finish paying off the house and have way more freedom from payments. Now, every day that I come home from work I get out of my car, take a breath of fresh air, look at the trees on my property and I INSTANTLY feel this awesome energy like I'm home. I say to myself "I love this place." and I feel a sense of such tremendous gratitude. It's so awesome. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Here's my advice to your three beliefs: (a) You're not keeping up with the Joneses. You're going after what you truly want. Who gives a crap what the Joneses are doing. Go after what you want. If it happens to be the same thing as you want, so be it. (b) It's not about perfect. It's about growth. Don't try to stunt your growth. Believe me, I love my house but it's not perfect. There is a whole new level of fun for me now. Since moving here I've had to learn how to cut down trees, bush, drive a tractor, build fences, and next summer I'll have to learn how to convert my pond into something that doesn't look like a swamp, and maybe even put a fountain in it. I would be willing to bet that there will be plenty of "unperfect" stuff about your property as well. It's not about perfection, it's about preferences. You're moving from the preference of having a paid of house you don't enjoy anymore to a house you have to go into more debt for that you'll enjoy more. (c) The other people in the houses on your block may or may not be happy there. THat is really none of your concern. It's not about them, this is about you and YOUR preferences. Maybe they live where they live because they have chosen to travel 6months out of the year, or maybe they prefer living where they are because they like the short commute to work. Whatever their preference is for staying there, it has nothing to do with you. Don't think of it as being Happy or not being Happy. THink of it as just having a preference. Kind of like Chocolate and Vanilla ice cream. If you follow your logic of being happy because other people are happy on the same street where is it going to stop? Are you going to choose vanilla ice-cream even if you prefer chocolate just because everyone on your street prefers vanilla? Who is it exactly that told you that you're not a worthy human being that deserves to have preferences? Here's my advice. Go for it. Go for what you truly want in life. Be happy. Have preferences. Do you really think that you'll be lying on your death bed one day and God is going to come down and punish you for eating chocolate ice-cream instead of vanilla?

| First off, Ken, congratulations on finding a home that suits your whole family. I too have those voices that whisper. A trick that's been helpful to me (and been a real learning process) has been to ask myself: Whose voice is that? Have I heard this thought before? Who said it? Is it really my own voice, that part of me that's trying to protect me? In which case, I go through everything once (or 3 times) again to make sure that I haven't missed something. Sometimes, it's just a scared-child portion of myself that needs to be soothed; sometimes, it's an inner knowing but that feels differently to me (for me, there's a calm insistence underneath it all). Sometimes I can clearly hear the voice of an adult from my childhood or the tone or a special phrasing of words that really aren't my own. If I can identify the source, then I can work at cleaning it up. ("Oh, that's what So-&-So was manifesting; I don't have to manifest that.") Hope this helps and good luck in whatever you decide. |

| The voice that is whispering usually will kill of what you want to achieve. I think there's a part of Law of Attraction is about open to receive what you want. You are almost getting what you want but don't let that voice stop you and open to receive what you have visualize. |

| Thanks for all these replies. It never fails to make me feel good when people take time out of their day to answer a question or concern I have. I shall, of course, endeavor to do the same as often as possible! Impaul99 - letter "c" really woke me up. I remember now that often times I do "assume stuff" or "make sh*t" up as they say. In this case, the outlook and happiness of the people on my street. Much of that I beleive comes from my Grandparents, both still alive, who still live in the same house they built 45 plus years ago. (of course nwo that I think about it, it's a nice house though too!!). My grandparents are "Yankee" types. VERY frugal, yet very generous. Very wealthy from plain old fashioned hard work and watching their pennies. So anyway, I think that's where the "who do you think you are?" comes from! I haven't worked long and hard enough yet, according to thoise dang' ol' voices!! Well, we've got two offers on our current house now, and our offers been accepted on the NEW house and we're more excited than ever. Oh, and I wouldn't be doing a thread re the LOA justice if I didn't mention this. My daughter goes to a beautiful little Catholic School in town. This school is simply out of a movie, maybe even Andy Griffith or Father knows best. Just great community, the men and women there are great husbands, wives, mothers and fathers and it's small. There are 70 children in the school grades k thru 5. The road we're moving to is a dirt road, 8/10th of a mile long. 7 out of the 70 children live on this road. Mathemetically this is just completely impossible. My lawncare company used to mow a lawn on the road. Synchronicities abound!!
