Interesting LOA Experience

When I moved into my house in 2001, I bought a Thomas McKnight print for my family room entitled "Positano" which is in the Capri/Amalfi Coast area of Italy. I just liked the picture, but had never been to that part of Italy. And so it has been hanging in my family room, and I look at it on a daily basis. This past weekend, I was invited to go to the music festival in that area as a participant. This was not an invitation or a course in my life that I expected, having been working in another field now for years. When I looked at the website, the picture of hotel and site of the festival were exactly the same view as the McKnight print. I have been looking at that hotel now for 6 years.

It reminded me of the story in The Secret where I think it was James Ray said that he looked at a picture of a house for years and then realized much later that he was living in the exact house, something that had happened unintentionally.

I share this story because LOA really works.

I drew an aerial view of my future house years ago in my journal and forgot about it. When we moved into our house this year I found my journal one day and was flipping throught the pages and I saw the picture I drew. It freaked me out a bit because the picture I drew looked exactly like the house I currently live in looking from the top.

I even drew square pillars for a gate up front in my picture and my house has square pillars. I drew a gate, it has a gate. I didn't draw a fence around stretching out from the pillars outwards because I never finished the picture (for whatever reason I got distracted.) As such this house had no fence. Someone just built two rock pillars for a gate and installed a gate but never built a fence to connect to it. It took me 3 months to build a fence to connect to it and circle my property. I really wish I drew it in.

In my picture I drew the house, and a really large tree right in the back of it. My house is exactly on the property where the picture shows, and there is a giant tree right where I drew it.

In the picture I also drew a roundabout driveway type thing with a garden in the middle, and that's what my house has. Besides the gate, the gate pillars, the driveway part, the garden, the house and the tree, the rest of the property I live on is largely unfinished (5 acres). It's probably because I never "finished" my picture.

Hint: If you're going to draw a picture of a future you want, be precise and draw everything in it, not just pieces.

Hey, very cool stories, both of you!

I have pretty clear visions of the house I intend to live in (soon!!). I had to laugh at your comments about the unfinished parts of your drawing corresponding to the same parts in your house, Paul - I've also drawn my house in my journal, but there were one or two areas that I just couldn't "see" and so left them for now... methinks I'd better fill them in before the universe decides to put something interesting there for me
