Smile How I used intention-manifestation to control TV

Ever have one of those days where you wake up with a thought stuck in your head?

Today I had an earworm, but more of a mindworm really. It was the episode of Family Guy where Peter has a fast-food job and sings a parody of Carol of the Bells (see Family Guy Ding Fries)

Anyway, I was unable to get this thought out of mind, I just couldn't stop visualising and thinking about this episode and how funny it was.

When I turned the tube to cartoon network when I almost shouted! Out of 87 possible episodes mine just hapeed to show up. While I wasn't conciously intending it - this still shows how powerful the intention-manifestation model is.

Funny you mention this. I remember years ago drinking a coffee with a friend of mine at university. We were chatting about the old tv days and somehow we talked about the TV series "Wonder Years" and I told him that I remembered the last episode to have kind of a sad ending. Later that day my friend called me and told me he had come home, switched through the channels and there was a re-run of the very last episode of this TV series.

Sometimes strange coincidences happen - even regarding TV

Wow this has happened to me too quite a few times, there have been plenty of times when i've thought about a movie, or an old program, and it happens to be in the TV guide or i'm flicking through channels and there it is.

Default I-M or coincidence?

In 24 hours you can have thousands and thousands of different thoughts, while within the same time span, thousands and thousands of things happen around you.
Wouldn't it be strange if NONE of these events matches with a thought you had at that same moment or a bit earlier?

My thought exactly. It is similar to how in every set of 30+ people, there is almost always a pair of people whose birthdays fall onto the same date. A miracle? I would not say so.

The existence of a simpler explanation does not mean that Nelson's hypothesis is false.

In a case like this, were people try to make simple things complicated, Ockham's razor comes to mind

Yeah, and one time, seriously, I was considering giving up TV and a lightning bolt struck our house and took out 2 TVs completely so they didn't work anymore. I was intending for TV to be out of my life and nature did its duty for me. I'm just glad MY TV wasn't on, but I gave it to someone else in my household.

So if a thought you consider (even ever so slightly) somehow manifests itself at least, oh, 1% of the time, it is a powerful model? I didn't realize we were redefining the paradigm of powerful these days!
