I learned a lot from team sports. I spent most of my time in top sides, but made some short forays into duds as well. To be a successful team requires all elements in alignment. For instance, say you choose a coach and team, knowing full well they play a certain style. If you don't like that style of play, why bother with it. Why join. And if you don't join, why spend all day arguing about the merits and alternatives of that team. In my experience I would have to toss a coin on the worse case scenario being either, each member of the team running around with a different direction in their head, or, teams spending all their time thinking about and 'discussing' every other team's faults and directions. So a team of talented, individual stars renders themselves useless, actually defeating and opposing themselves. Go and watch, or even worse, play in that type of team. They actually learn and achieve nothing, except the art of arguing and creating frustration, doubt and confusion. Even if the style of play of a strongly aligned team is not successful in winning an award, mountains can be observed, experienced and learned about that style of play, and applied to what new directions to choose and take. Ourselves, our being can be compared in the same vein. And the same scenarios exist. Frustrated, doubting people argue with themselves, constantly opposing and defeating themselves. 'Yes I can, no I cant, this way, that way, impossible, right, no wrong, I don't know. He says this...no wait she says that...no wait. Lets 'discuss' some more'. Or they do the same thing concerning others beliefs and choices. Imagine paddling into a wave, people screaming and jabbering everywhere... 'you are on the wrong board', 'paddle this way', 'no that way' 'don't go, its too big', 'don't go its too small', 'I think I saw a shark', I think I saw a dolphin', 'the reef is too sharp', 'its better on low tide', its better on high tide', 'that wetsuit's too loose', 'that wetsuit's too tight'. The hilarious thing is, it actually happens. And all the people that are getting waves, and who enjoy surfing, and who are motivated and improve, are the ones who ignore the whole fiasco. So for instance, if you want to surf warm water, nice 4 foot beachies and have fun, why go surfing with people who want to surf cold water, draining bombs. Or spend all day arguing, oops, sorry, 'discussing' with each other whats wrong and impossible with each others choices. I guess that way, you don't have to ever have to be accountable for anything. The power of fear. When someone surfs in a way that catches attention, or impresses, that is the real motivator of motivating discussion and learning experience. Like life. Example. I am posting this because it is a pitfall in personal development. Many camps arguing over things, oops sorry, I meant intelligently 'discussing' or 'rationalising', instead of actually trying something for themselves, or adding to anothers choice, having some example to offer as a guide or motivator. Isn't it great when someone can actually say, hey I do this, thats why I am this. Then it makes me think. So whether its sitting under a tree seeking enlightenment, wanting to be the richest person, wanting to meditate, wanting to be the person that can work the hardest, the person that can work the least, the person with healing or psychic abilities, an LoA gun, an NLP gun, a content happy person, a saviour, yoga, weights, vegetarian, vegan, meat, whatever, surrounding yourself with doubt, confusion and a million conflicting directions...good luck, whatever turns you on. But, the words mean nothing in the end. I like to see what anyone's got to show for it. Where the words come from and lead to, to see whether or not its in alignment with my dreams and directions, or impressive enough to be interested in adopting, before giving any real attention to one word, or letting one word in. Now I can go and study the stock market. I'm really into it. Wait a minute, I'll get to that later, maybe next week. Did you hear some deluded idiots think they can get rich passively! I've never tried it, but look at this website, and this guy said its impossible. Plus that woman runs a group that exposes passive income earners, and she said...wow wait a minute, here's a link to stock market fraud and hoaxes! You can stick the stock market! I wonder if Warren Buffet's seen it! How much do all these experts make a week? Sweet F### all! But who cares, they have some great arguments. ****!!!...I'm broke and haven't paid my internet bill...can somebody... |
