Default Another READING thread....

Can you develop bad vision by reading a substantial amount of material over a long period of time? If so how long would it take? Also what is worse on the eyes a computer or a book?

Myopia can be caused by too much of something called "nearwork." You can read more about some of the theories at this Wikipedia page:

I think computer work may be worse than looking at books, but you might want to talk to an eye doctor to see if that's true or not.

Reading doesn't harm the eyes, but a computer screen will tire them more quickly than a book, as will reading a book in dim versus bright light.
