What medicament you guys use for curing throat ache? I am having it now and all those crappy honey-based medicaments don't do a thing in helping me with this ache. So if someone could give me some advice on what to take i'd be glad to know (please don't tell me about any medicament related to the damn honey, they appearently dont work with me).

Try yogurt. I like plain whole milk organic. Also make sure your nose is not stuffed up, that is what causes it.

Cough drops provide temporary relief for my sore throats, so does numbing spray. Warm foods work well for quick relief as well - chicken noodle soup, tea, and the like. If you're having mucus drain down your throat and that's irritating it, eat bread or crackers. It absorbs the mucus in you stomach, preventing you from feeling queasy and nauseous. (I guess that doesn't help much for the sore throat, but it's just a helpful hint!)

Thanks for the tips. I'll try some yogurt later. It's not that i have anything else like a flu/cold (i dont even remember the last time i had it), it's just this throat ache. My nose is OK. The problem is that here the temperature varies a lot during the day/night, so i might go to sleep and it's warm and when i wake up the temperature is already very low, and that gave me the throat ache today. And it still didnt go away, but i guess by tomorrow i'll be OK

Sam988! You probably have a small infection... there are some lymph nodes in the neck area that trap microbes and render them inoffensive... Now, if you wrap your neck with soft wool (like a soft wool sock) those nodes will be warmer and work faster to do their job... The best of luck to you... . |

I find ibuprofen to be the best way to deal with a sore throat. It takes about 30 minutes to work, but it lasts the longest of anything and I've usually healed up by the time it wears off. For me, sore throats are nearly always caused by sinus drainage.
