non at all and it was the best decision I ever made regarding my fitness.

I had a membership in a posh gym and hardly ever went there. It cost me huge amount of money and I felt guilty as hell but I just didn't want to go. There are a couple of authors who have the philosophy that "your body is your own gym". I got a couple of their books and started working out at home every day and I have never looked back. My progress is amazing although I would attribute it 75% to nutrition and 25% to the workout.

It depends on what kind of results you want. I aimed for the lean ripped type not big. I want to look like an athlete not like a bodybuilder.

I can't speak for weight training but if you have the space I'd say go for it and get a couple of dumbbells and freeweights. I would stay away from workout machines but that's a question of personal taste. Consistency is the key. It's easier to be persistent when you don't have to leave the house (at least that's the case for me).

Hope that helps.
Volkmar
