Default Alarms don't wake me up!

I just sleep right through them (yeah that's right, I won't even wake up), go back to sleep, or lay awake.

I have set it to the same time for about a week now, it should be taking effect and evening itself out. In a way, it did even out, but I'm getting up 30 minutes later than my alarm is set.

Someone suggested using two alarms. I'll try, but volume hasn't always helped me.

I'm not turning the alarm off, so don't suggest moving the alarm, because that would probably just make it harder to hear it.

Before you go to sleep, say to yourself: "insert your name", tomorrow morning i'm going to wake up at "insert time".

Say this like 5 to 10 times while you are allready in bed. and whenever the thought of not going to hear the alarm, or not going to wake up on time enters your mind. Say again. Tomorrow moring i'm going to wake up at "insert time"

You can give it a try. It worked for me.

You can even add:
Tomorrow moring i'm going to wake up at "insert time", and feel completely awake, amazingly good, and super productive(or something what you want to be in the morning)

Some questions:

Are you able to wake up at a later time with an alarm clock?

Does any kind of noise wake you up at different time? What if thunder strikes?

Have you tried visualizing right before going to sleep waking up with energy when the alarm clock goes off?

Check Steve pavlinas blog, there is a good article on how to overcome this, its about training yourself to jump out of bed without even thinking, thats what you must achieve, and you do this by practice, do as if you where sleeping, lay in bed, get very relaxed as if you where sleeping, and then do as if the alarm started to sound, and inmediatelly get up, do this 20 times per day in a row, its excersize, just like physical excersize, but this time is mental training, well, check the article on Steves blog, he explains it better, good luck!.

I kinda tried that. I said that a few times, mostly said I'm going to wake up immediately when my alarm goes off.

Nah I haven't. I missed that part of steve's blog. I just noticed setting the alarm clock and not worrying about when to go to sleep, which I noticed too that I was losing valuable time laying awake in bed.

I don't know. I haven't tried. I assume it wouldn't really matter, since my natural body would be waking up anyway.

Nope noise doesn't really wake me up. I think I'm used to it. Recently an earthquake woke my family up but I didn't get woken up. It was pretty minor. Don't tell the government though lol. Actually I think I wake fairly easy if I can sense something or if my body is disturbed, but not noise really.

If any kind of noise does not wake you up, then I'm guessing it's not psychological.

Have you tried a vibrational watch alarm, where the alarm vibrates to wake you up? If you're sensitive to light, have you tried setting a light timer on your lamp?

Personally, if I oversleep my alarm, it means I went to bed too late.

Whatever happened, maybe it was the visualizing. I fell asleep around 1 I think. Didn't lay in bed TOO long, maybe 15 minutes. I woke up at 7:48 and waited for my alarm to go off (switched it to 8). lol. Then I got up instantly.

Not so sensitive to light, usually it will wake me up but I can easily sleep through it if I'm tired enough. Vibrational will probably work, because vibrations from my phone wake me up if it's close enough. I will try that.
