 This woman is truly an inspiration:)  I hope this link works...You have to read this story about 86 Year old Marjorie Newlin.In her 70's she decided that she needed to strengthen herself to initally be able to lift 50 LB kitty litter bags by herself,and then over time began to compete(at first reluctantly)at the behest of her trainer. When I first read this on a gossip blog,I was in awe....and then I was finding myself truly inspired.It makes me so happy to hear about such upliftling things *If my fabulous link doesn't work....just google this lovley lady *Caroline Miller’s Library *In this article,it talks about her deciding to begin lifting weights to offset osteoporosis...another article I read about her mentioned the 50 LB bags.Just wanted to correct myself,and not look like a total terd  *Last edited by opinestle : 08-05-2007 at 07:33 PM. | opinestle! Very inspiring story... thank you for sharing it... I strongly believe that "getting old" happens when you lose flexibility... flexibility of the body, to a small extent... but, mainly, flexibility of the mind... So long as you remain open to changes, to new concepts and ideas... willing to try something new... you are still young... but, to the degree that you mind and brain "hardens" you get progressively older... . |
