Just to throw a little interest into the mix, smoking tobacco has been shown to be an effect anti-depressant. Also, I remember reading about how pilots were once encouraged to smoke because it sharpened their thought processes. No, I don't know where I read those. If you want to, you could google it. Smokers have become the new (insert racially derogatory word here) of the millenium. And that's what I think is most wrong about the bans. Now non-smokers feel free to poke at smokers, feeling the weight of self-righteous society behind them. Cowardly, I think. Just my 2 cents. Oh, I'd like to tack a perfume ban onto the smoking bans. Perfume does indeed affect me negatively--it can trigger an asthma attack, which can kill a person pretty quickly. |

I'm glad that smoking is banned in shops and malls over here, not just because of the second hand smoke. As a child I vividly remember being in crowded shops and being burnt by adults carrying cigarettes. I've never thought of a perfume ban, some do give me headaches but I can always walk away, well most of the time I work retail and have to put up with from customers. |
