Default Tired and sleepy in the morning till 11am

here is my details: i normally sleeps at 12.00 and will wake up at 7.00 in the morning. i had being practicing this habit regularly for 1 and a half month. Its hard for me to get up in the morning so i normally will set two alarm . one is alarm that plays loud radio in the morning , another one is a alarm clock near my bath room. Only by doing this i will not turn off the alarm and sleep back , as i can straight away force my self to get into the toilet to shower after closing the alarm .

But here is my problem: i normally wake up alert , but after the breakfast i will starts to feel very very sleepy again! The sleepiness is so tremendous i cannot focus doing my things.why? when exposed to sun light i always feels like closing my eyes. The feeling of sleeping is so much more intense compared to the night time .What is wrong?! ( i normally eat oat and apple for breakfast, and bath cold water)

Hello

I was just wondering if you feel alert after 11am and everything returns to normal? Is it every day that you feel so tired? Sorry to ask more questions but I think we need more information to be able to work it out.

Take Care

yes, i will feel alert back only after 3-4 hours i have been awake . I will only feel alert during the " sleepy period after waking up" if , i was doing outdoor activity such as jogging, walking , swimming or talking frequently to someone. If i was reading a book at that particular time after breakfast i will definitely fall asleep.

This happens almost everyday, and i realize the sleepiness sometimes occurs after i had my meal ( breakfast , lunch and dinner). Some one says its due to my blood was being used to digest the food so less oxygen gets to my brain?!some says i have bad blood circulation? i don't know~~

what is your quality of sleep like? It could be that you are not getting into a deep sleep or that something in your environment such as noise is waking you up at night.
It sounds very much like you accumulated a sleep debt. If you can't do something like reading a book without falling asleep then I would say you need sleep.
look around at where you sleep for things that might wake you at night, too much light, noise, discomfort...

Try substituting a portion of your complex caborhydrate with a boiled egg (protein) along with essential fatty acids ( cold pressed flax + Primrose oil, Udo and etc ) to find out if it would make your body sings for the rest of your day.

My 2 cents .

Hello taitouwah...

Different people have different sleeping needs... (there are no determined rules on individual sleeping needs) and, from what you tell us... you are only sleeping seven hours a night... that could simply not be enough for you...

I would suggest that you try sleeping at least eight hours a night for a few weeks and see what happens... you have nothing to lose... what is the good of being awake if you can't do anything good for most of that time...

Good luck to you...

.

hello,

i've heard that an hour of sleep before midnight is equal to two after midnight, so why don't you try to sleep earlier and get up at the same time. It will surely be challenging in the begining but it is certainly worth a try

I would recommend you to check your blood pressure. Low blood pressure will make it difficult to fall asleep at night and even more difficult to wake up ion the morning.
Also try drinking a glass of orange juice when you are sleepy.

It sure sounds like a good idea to try to go to sleep earlier.

I have a similar problem actually. I really want to become an early riser, but I just can't seem to fall asleep early. As far as I can remember, I've always had the problem of laying on my bed for at LEAST ½-1 hour untill I fall asleep.
When I go to bed earlier (and I feel tired) I can't fall asleep until 11pm-01am.

Good luck with your sleep problem, I hope that you solve it easily.

I've had those exact symptoms before and it's been because I woke up at the wrong time in my sleep cycle. I feel "alert", as in awake but not really all there, like I can't think deep thoughts. I feel like alert but like there's still a fog in my head.

Anyway, when we sleep, we have five "stages" of sleep and we cycle through those five stages a few times. Stage 1 (very light sleep), Stage 2 (slightly deeper), Stage 3 & 4 (very deep sleep), REM (dreaming mostly happens here). You might feel like that if you're woken up in stages 2 to 4 and sometimes even in REM.

Anyhoo, there's a pattern for everyone, and a typical sleep cycle is between 90 minutes and 100 minutes. Try varying your waking or sleeping time by around 15 minutes. Try a new setting for a few days and see if that changes things. Assuming a 90 minute sleep cycle, that would put you at 7.5 horus of sleep, or 9 hours--not 7 hours, which is what you seem to be trying for. So vary things by about 15 minutes (or even half an hour) and see if that does anything.

Another thing to try, instead of going to bed at 12 every night, try going to bed when you feel sleepy. When do you start to feel sleepy? I think Steve's article talked about setting a waking time and going to sleep when you feel sleepy.

Hope this helps.

You mentioned bad circulation (something I also suffer from). Does your body feel overly hot or cold at certain periods of the day?

Eating certain foods and light yoga helps me rebalance myself during 'drowsy' bouts.

Are you taking in a decent amount of protein with your meals? Breakfast doesn't sound like it and that could be part of your problem, high carb meals without enough protein to balance the effect on blood sugar levels (or even) can put you right to sleep.
