I'm having a major problem with eating. I just have NO appetite. As a result, I don't eat most days until my stomach starts growling so loudly that other people can hear it. Even then, I don't actually feel like food and I don't have an appetite for a particular food (i.e. I don't think "Ooh...I'd like a sandwich" or whatever), I just eat to stop feeling dizzy and so others don't hear my stomach. I think about all the foods I used to like and would previously have enjoyed, but none of them make me feel like eating much. It's a real problem because when I DO force myself to eat despite poor appetite earlier in the day, I get early satiety, bad nausea and sometimes heavy bloating which is very uncomfortable and I also tend to eat very slowly. However, if I wait until later in the day so at least I've built up some hunger, then my blood sugar has dropped enough so that all I want is sugary, high GI foods and then I end up binging (which also leads to bloating, satiety, etc as above). I've also ended up throwing up sometimes when I've forced myself to eat too much. What could the problem be? |
