I am quitting caffeine and am down to two weak cups of coffee a day. An unexpected benefit is that the loud tinnitus that buzzed my ears during silent times is quieter. I noticed my hearing being clearer earlier in the day and thought that it was gone. When I went to bed, it was not gone, but quieter than it has been in years. Anyone else experience this? Any good tinnitus cures out there? Doctors are clueless when it comes to this.

Hello pharmboy... I have treated many patients with tinnitus and I found that most of the cases are stress related... if you decrease the stress... you decrease the symptom or noise... Therefore cutting down on coffee and sugar will certainly help... Here is a good article in tinnitus... Good luck to you... .

I didn't know you were a health practitioner, Shamou. What sort? And thanks for the link. I've had tinnitus for years. (Though the thought of giving up my two morning cups makes it somehow louder!

Stress is a major factor in making tinnitus harder to bear. I have a hard time dealing with it. @Shamou: From what I read on another thread you are a chiropractor. What is the relation between your medical background and tinnitus?

The basic tenet for my work reside in the fact that emotions (and stress) are somatised... that is, every fiber, every cell of your body are closely affected by your mental state... but, it is also a fact that your physical body directly influences your state of mind... Therefore, by reducing physical stress... you reduce mental stress... and with it the effects of tinnitus... . |
