Headaches Has anyone else gotten over chronic headaches? :D I used to get them frequently, then I stopped getting them for several months (like... 18?), now I'm getting them again. I don't think it's diet-related -- I can't make heads or tails of it. I get pain behind my eyebrows (sinuses?) and across the top of my head, and the taste of blood in the back of my throat. It's quite unpleasant. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! ETA: Oh -- I don't think I'm actually bleeding. I don't have nosebleeds or blood in my saliva/phlegm/etc. I think something is happening neurologically that's causing me to taste it without it actually being there. |

Did you go to the doctor about this? :confused: Oh well, may be I'm just a big old worry wart. I'm the type of person who will read Bronte literature and then be utterly convinced that I have some how contracted TB the next time I have a cough. :D Quote:

How often do you get them? For chronic health issues it might be useful to keep a journal to try and identify causes or triggers. You can track things like your cycle, food intakes, weather, exercise, levels of stress and fatigue, and exceptional events like travel, etc. Good luck! |

You may want to check your blood pressure as headaches are a symptom for high blood pressure. If this is the case I think it is caused by drinking too much fluids and eating too much sweet. If not, try remembering where were the places where you get the headaches and find if there is something in common with all of them, maybe something from the outside is causing them. |
My suggestion is to consult your doctor. He will give you better advice. Years back i was having the same problem and i was not known about my condition. At that time it was my doctor who diagnosed my problem and by following his advice i was able to get rid of my headaches. |

When I had migraines, I almost always had visual effects--not outright hallucinations, but I was incredibly sensitive to light and it distorted things sometimes. When I mean diet triggered for me these days it's almost always an artificial sweetener, but I usually avoid those. Oh! And I've had some triggered by stress too. |

I agree with the person who said it before, keep a journal. What you eat, what weather it is, how tired you are, and if you have a headache. In the mean time, do you meditate? It might be stress related, since normally we are more stressed when we are tired....? |

The ONLY time I ever get headaches is when I'm dehydrated. Make sure you are not only getting enough water, but that you're consuming lots of high water content fruits and vegetables. It's MUCH easier to stay hydrated when you focus on them. You have to drink a lot more water if your diet consists of low water content foods. |
Have you check your eyes, if you are getting specs then that may be reason for it. If your daily work bring stress to your eyes then that too lead with headache. |
Thank you all for your input! I appreciate it. In the last couple days, I've been trying to drink more water and sleep a little more, and I think it's helping. I did have a headache yesterday but it was mild and didn't come with the blood taste. |
I've encountered headaches sometimes if either: a) I don't get enough exercise. b) I go without any fish at all for months. c) I eat too much processed food or sugar. |
I know this may seem overly simple,but one thing that I have done to relieve my tension headaches is to do about 40 sit-ups. It usually alleviates the pain for a good hour. You should definitely try it. |
