Default Adrenal Fatigue and Hypothyroidism

I am recharged to renew my work on adrenal fatigue and hypothyroidism. I read something today on Stop the Thyroid Madness about using ashwagnada and licorice.

Are there any of you who have used these to good result?

(I am moving this from Emotional Health to Health & Fitness. I put it under Emotional Health initially simply because my attention on this subject grew out of my struggle with emotional health. The adrenal and thyroid health along with the entire endocrine system have a profound effect on emotional health.)

James Wilson has written a book and maintains a website about adrenal fatigue. I ordered and have just received the supplements which I have taken in the past but only recently had the money to purchase them again. I am really looking forward to feeling better. The first improvement can happen as quickly as 7 to 14 days but I expect it will take one to two years until the adrenals kick in on their own.

Yesterday I made an appointment with a Harvard trained doctor who prescribes desiccated thyroid and who tests for T3 hormone levels concerning the thyroid. That appointment is in early January and his lab tests take 4 weeks so I expect that corrected treatment to begin in 9 weeks. It seems like a long time to me but I have these supplements to begin my help in the meanwhile.

I am on the road to physical and emotional health at long, long last.

The work I have been doing via Dr. Jefrey Scwartz 4 steps has led me to recognize the physical health issues that are necessary. I am extremely thankful and I must say that having this forum to write in has been a significant contribution to the progress.

Wanzul - hypothyroidism is a slowly functioning thyroid which is often accompanied with over active adrenal glands. These are just two of the organs that function in the endocrine system. The results of poorly functioning thyroid and adrenal glands is physiological and brain/emotional/mental.

Stanmrak - thank you for sharing. I look forward to checking it out.

I've suffered from adrenal fatigue for years, and only recently realized that I had this issue. I gain huge amount of weight when I don't sleep properly because of stress, and can bloat from one day to another. When I was in my 20s they found abnormal levels of cortisol in my blood, but the MRI didn't detect any issue with the adrenals... So it took another 20 years for me to connect the dot.

Somebody at Whole Foods who had the same problem directed me to Ashwaghanda to take with Chromium...It works like a charm.

Please report about your progress and the positive results I'm sure you'll get.

OK - tell me more about what mg and dosage you found helpful for yourself. I have added Ashwaghanda but was not aware of the need for chromium.

Can you tell me more?

By the way, how long did you take the pair and how long did it take for you to feel some relief. I think the adrenal fatigue makes it difficult for me to get substantially restful sleep.

Another good whole food supplement you can take is called Maca...it is one of the best things that you can take for overall health - but especially the endocrine system...

Just note...it is known to increase the sex drive...
