Hi, I'd like to ask for some advice regarding my sleep. I want to start biphasic sleeping (again, I tried it in september for 2 weeks). The reason is because with monophasic - I need 9 hours of sleeping - I don't feel the day long enough, and I'm not sleepy enough to go to sleep until 1-2 hours later when I should go to bed, to wake up at the same time every day. So I guess I'll try to adapt to biphasic, so that my waking hours would be longer. I tried putting my afternoon 1.5 hours nap starting from 18.00, and I tried it from 16.00 in the past few days as well. The problem is that it takes VERY long time to fell asleep both at the nap and at the late night long sleep. It often takes more than 30-45 minutes to fall asleep as random thoughts from the day are going through my head, and even if I try relaxing my body and concentrate on my breathing, it's very hard to fall asleep. My guides are: I'm not at home from 8.30 - 13.30 once a week, and from 12.30 - 17.30 twice a week due to university classes. Also, my partner wakes up around 8.00, and I'd prefer not to wake him with my alarm. I'd like to ask for some opinions where should I put my nap, or should I try any other form of polyphasic sleep? Or any other idea that I wouldn't need to stir in the bed sleepless, but also with at least around 16-17 hours of wake time per day? (Btw I did everyman 3 back in 2010 for 3.5 months, and that time I didn't have problems with falling asleep within 10 minutes.) |
