Hey :-)I am determined to start a 14 day (if not longer) water only fast as of tomorrow. I am doing this mainly for weight loss and clearer skin. I need to lose a total of 2 stones before christmas and water fasting is the only answer for me! I have read up alot about fasting and was surprised to see so many positive things like massive health benefits for example! Also read peoples experiences and they are amazing! I know it takes some willpower to complete this and that is why im posting here! I feel i need support, motivation and encouragement to help me get through this. I would LOVE to here of anyones previous experiences in water fasting and how it helped you. I have tried starting one 3 times in the past and never gotten past day one So i will be posting in and updating this thread every day as of tomorrow. Wish me luck peeps, and good luck to anyone else attempting this. I hope you achieve your goals. Lianne x |

Hi Lianne, voice of research here you did not research properly The key part you have missed is that the body is very good at adapting slowly but is very bad (goes into shock) at adapting suddenly Someone who has never done fasting should not start with 14 days. Also fasting is to clear up your system's inside - it is not a good tool for weight loss. What I suggest: do a vegetable soup "fast". You will lose TONS of weight and you will still give your body nourishment so it does not go into shock/starvation mode. This is also VERY cheap - buy whatever vegetables and boil in big pot of water + salt + pepper you got a soup. Then if you really wanna try the water fast do 1 day first. Then do 3 days a couple of times. Then go for a week a couple of times, etc. Scale slowly to allow your body to learn and adapt. |

| i've done several short fasts in the past. im on day 9 of my water fast. To prepare for this one i juiced for 7 days (i lost the same amount of weight as i would at the beginning of a water fast) Once i started this water fast i was only losing 1/2 a pound a day.. I also went two days without losing any weight. Im doing this for 30days. remember during a water fast you are not suppose to take vitamins... also be sure to break it properly with juicing & to be active.. if you go back to eating crap & do not make any lifestyle changes you will gain all the weight back & more. I really think u should do some thorough research & maybe make a goal of making it through a 3 day water fast before trying for 2 weeks. |

I have done two waterfasts that went 14 days and also some 5-7 day ones. I am on Day 2 of my current waterfast. I did a 4 day one followed by 8 days of eating and weight training. Now it is back to the waterfasting. My goal is to get at least 5 days and take it from there and break the waterfast for the right reasons. Sometimes I broke the waterfast for the entertainment of a weekend of eating and working out. Best wishes to all the waterfasters out there.. |
