Which brings up two points,

(1) Why am I posting in it?

(2) Don't worry, I did not mean any disrespect towards the Original Poster or anyone else.

I nearly choked on a leaf of mizuna (a relative of mustard) to the point that my girlfriend had to give me the heimlich manuver...The real truth of the matter is to be careful of people who make you laugh too hard while you are eating...

Totally. That's always been the case for me too. I've only ever choked on food when someone around me has made me laugh.

Know what? You can find "facts" to prove humans are naturally herbivorous, and you can find "facts" to prove they aren't. But the REAL fact is we have no frigging idea... why? Because humans have pretty much been out of touch with normal eating ever since they invented agriculture.

Now, I will admit I read all the pro-vegetarian things in the past, and because I'm the sort of person who will take a bug outside rather than squash it, it made sense for me to quit eating meat.

HOWEVER, after reading Weston Price, I am not at all convinced that we are supposed to be vegetarian.

Also, there is plenty of anecdotal evidence from people who tried their darndest to be vegetarian or vegan, and failed. Not because they "did it wrong", just because their bodies didn't seem to function well on a meat-free diet.

For this reason, I think people just need to work out what works for themselves, and leave everybody else to do the same.
