I have lost 19 pounds so far. I think my body is trying to start its monthly cycle but I have a feeling that won't happen since I'm not eating. I am hoping this is just a speed bump and then it will rev back up again. I mean really common sense tells me my body has no other option other than to lose weight when I am putting absolutely nothing but water in it. I am sure it will turn around soon.....I hope! Ya this morning I woke up hungry but when I started filling myself up with water it went away. I am wondering if I'm not losing weight cause I'm slightly dehydrated??? I have not been drinking much water lately cause it is really passed boredom at this point....lol. water doesn't even sound remotely good and I adore ice water! I'm for sure not quitting I just need to stay motivated and think about how far I have come and how much I would feel like a failure if I quit now. I would like to never fast this long again if at all possible so completing it is my only option. I will fast like this again if my body needs it medically....and only medically |

oh good! ya, if you haven't been drinking much then you have mistaken thirst for hunger. Drink up! drinking more helps eliminate the toxins. This totally sucks:/ at least your half way done. And not at day 2 like me lol Yeah, after this, there is no way in hell im doing this again. lol |

I know water is the best thing for me but what the crap! I can only pretend to enjoy that for so long...lol Just be proud that you are dedicated enough to take this challenge on...this s**t is not for the weak that for sure. It is 230 ans I am still nursing my first bottle of water for the day....pretty pathetic. I am glad I have lost 19 but I expect to lose much more before this is over....that better happen!!!! |

So its 630pm here and I have made it through going to the movies with my family and smelling that popcorn that isn't even made with real butter and its unbelievable. Ya I know its bad for you but I still splurge on my cheat day. Today was hell! Somehow I still managed to cook the family chicken and mushroom Alfredo pasta with garlic bread and a side of Italian broccoli....all the smells today were torture but I am glad I pushed through it. I had the worst case of dry mouth today and I know that's from not drinking enough water....I can't tell you enough how hard this is for me to convince myself of the benefits of water and how amazing it tastes!!!! Ivyw how are you holding up? Your hunger alarm should be going crazy in your body right now....i found that for hunger the end of the 2nd day and whole 3rd day sucked. |

| Ugh, yeah, I know I'm pretty much ignored on here... But, that is VERY bad to do. You should be drinking when you are thirsty, not to just get to a specific amount of water. You also get much better results with less water. Drinking a ton of water isn't going to flush out your system better. Drink only 2-3 glasses of water per day. The concept of drinking large amounts of water to flush out toxins is not valid. During water fasting, digestion is not required, and the body needs only a small amount of water for its processes. Excessive liquid intake reduces scouring action and disturbs the detoxification process.

Also, I'd say this goes for non fasting too. If you eat any fruits, you'd be surprised how much water you actually get. I used to drink almost a gallon a day, but a few glasses a day is more then enough. Long as your pee is close to clear, that means you have more then enough water. I had that whole 8 glasses of water a day advice that people keep pushing.

I really think this whole fast is about winging it. Basically dont put anything in your mouth except water and figure out the rest as you go. I actually feel like I am more emotional today in addition to all the rest of the crap today. I am really glad your day 2 is easier this time around. At least you are positive and sound really motivated. Let's hope for the same results tomorrow for you...not me though. I need a better day tomorrow |

Another benefit of drinking only to thirst is that drinking otherwise can become an unpleasant chore and when we await thirst as we ideally should, water is an amazing delight. Countrygal be assured that your body is continuing to burn fat as fuel every minute of every day since it has no choice in the matter whatsoever. If your scale weight remains the same for a couple of days this has everything to do with temporary water fluctuation and nothing to do with an impossible interruption in the steady, consistent fat loss. I say this so that you remain motivated by something positive that is absolutely happening regardless of what the scale reads. Last edited by MightySunTzu; 11-22-2011 at 03:39 AM.

It seems like when it rains it pours. I couldn't fall asleep for anything last night. I am so sorry you fell!!!! I thought you were going to tell me that you quit! I was like nooooooooo!!!! By the way for anyone following this for asthma reasons.....my breathing treatments have become so infrequent. I would like to know if anyone knows if there is anything that I should avoid when I am through fasting or if I am going to have essentially a fresh pair of lungs???? You obviously know which answer I am pulling for....lol |

Wow...I mean no offense by this, but I am so surprised you are still hanging in there! Kudos to you! I've been watching this so afraid you were going to get sick or something, but you're still checking in, so that's awesome! I guess our bodies are designed to endure much more than we realize. And IVY...to go from drinking only juice to water! Wow...I can't believe you could do that without food. You are just amazing. You both are! So last night I decided I would start a 7 day today, got up...had no water! So good luck guys! You are seriously motivating to others. Take care of yourselves! I'll be watching you...muaahahahahahahahahahaha... |

soo im pretty much grounded to the bed right now. My hips did not like that fall this morning lol. as far as "hunger" goes im completely fine. im drinking to thirst and have had half a gallon of water so far. My urine & throat still say im a bit dehydrated. Well at least the water taste good today.. damn, i went from getting too much water to not getting enough. after my fall my husband was like "thats it, this ♥♥♥♥ needs to stop!" I said no, and that i was going to keep going then he kissed me and left for work. He's pretty irritated by my water fasting but hopefully soon he will see how much good its doing for me |

That really sucks but at least it forces yourself to give your body some rest during this. I am glad you're not hungry though this is sounding much easier for you. It makes it so hard when your husband isn't on board but as long as you just keep telling yourself that its temporary then you will stay motivated. Thanksgiving might make him more mad since you only celebrate with the 2 of you but it will pass. If you give in then you will regret it and start planning the next best day to start again. My husband keeps trying to tell me that it seems like my asthma is pretty much gone and that if like 5 more days go by like this I should just break my fast.....I just tell him there is no way in hell I have come this far to quit without completing this. He just says ok....he also thinks my face is starting to look way too skinny and he hopes the weight loss slows down....I just say I know it will be over soon. In the back of my mind I'm thinking this weight loss better not slow down anymore than it has!!!! Lol

I would think its.more normal because u already lost a few from juicing. It is such an unpredictable thing. I finally dropped 1# today after nothing for 3 days...who knows what will happen tomorrow and the next. It sure makes it easier for women anyway to se that number on the scale go down when you are giving up all calories completely

I know your urine is supposed to be close to clear but ever since I started fasting my urine is more yellow now than ever before....what the hell is that about. My mouth is so dry lately so I understand I'm probably dehydrated to a degree but even before my mouth was dry and I was drinking quite a bit of water my pee was still so yellow. I would love to drink more water but at this point in the gitame it make my stomach hurt worse. I don't know what to do cause if I force myself to drink more water I am certain I will throw up

Well it is already starting to smell like thanksgiving in my house....I've started all the prepping and part of it was making a freakn vegetable broth!!!! Don't tell me that wasnt hard to smell...lol. my husband says to me again for the second time tonight that he really wishes I would break my fast sometime this week....I can tell he is over it and as hard as it it used to be not to quit or change my plans cause we were.not on the same page with something, this is the one time I am not changing my plan. How was your husband the rest of today? Is he asking what the hell is going to happen for thanksgiving??? Whatever you do, don't complain about being hungry and no way in hell mention your painful hip....lol |

That is so funny because I was just thinking about making homemade clam chowder....I have been going through a list of stuff I need to buy. I used to eat the hell out of some clam chowder prior to eating the way I have been. Do you have your own recipe or do you just look them up online? My husband doesn't like the liquid to be runny though and loves little pieces of bacon in it too. I am glad he wasn't upset and that is awesome he isn't sweating thanksgiving. As long as you cook I'm sure he will feel like a stuffed bird! At least you will be done by Christmas.....dont asparagus sound so good! Those stupid things won't get out of my head...literally front and center....my poor husband is probably so sick of hearing about all the healthy meals I can't wait to eat. |

I'm surprised to hear you were throwing up, what do you speculate was the exact reason? Do you think there might have been medications getting detoxed out? Last edited by MightySunTzu; 11-23-2011 at 04:31 AM.

I thought the vomiting was caused by drinking too much water last night, the water did taste awful & i got through a gallon before reading your comments. I haven't been on any medications so i really don't know what else could have caused it. I didnt experience any of this during the last few short fasts so this is definitely new lol. im definitely going to take it easy this time around lol |

Well what little sleep I did get last night was rudely interrupted this morning so I didn't start my day off on the best foot. I am hoping to turn that around. Taking the boys fishing today and then coming back to do some more thanksgiving prepping. How is your day Ivyw? Is your hip in pretty bad shape today? I am proud of you for passing the 3 day mark...that was a tough one for me. |
