Thanks! my dream is to get my pro-card & become a nutritionist. while im resting during this fast i will continue to self-educate myself. I love being in the gym, when it came to working out my downfall was rest days i never wanted to take them & that would cause me to injure myself. I really believe this water fast will fix my problems & when it does I will be stronger than ever! |

Great job there countrygal, you are really getting it done Not to say that this is your perspective, but if it is, it's quite amazing how much nicer our fasting breath can smell just by brushing our teeth/gums/mouth/tongue daily (or twice daily) and just with water. The before and after on this (getting somebody to test it for you) is "smells bad from 10 feet away" to "smells fine from 1 foot away". |

Thanks mightysun but it doesn't matter how many times I brush my teeth my breathe only stays smelling good for a little bit....I have never had any problems with bad breath and now it is unmanageable. Ivyw....are you enjoying your last day of juicing? I have to say that I have had a pretty good past few days other than being completely drained and needing to take a lot of breaks....my upper back pain is the real killer. If I didn't have that pain this wouldn't be so bad right now. The hunger has long disappeared and now I am just focused on the finish line. My days used to drag on forever it seemed and the last few days dont feel like that as much. I have had plenty of time to look up great sounding healthy recipes for when I'm done and that gets me excited. I think that the personal accomplishment is worth every single day of this to me. I am so proud of myself for even getting this far and that feels amazing. |

I am so bored with juicing. My last juice was at 10 this morning. I am done juicing. 30days of water starts now. im not actually going to consider today part of the 30day fast but i am done putting anything outside of water into my body. Last edited by IvyW; 11-19-2011 at 06:01 PM. |

That is so funny! How many days total was that of juicing? Imagine when ur nearing the end of this water fast...veggie broth is going to seem like a gourmet meal. At least I have you to get through my last half and I am here for your firat half. I'm hoping that your symptoms won't be as bad as mine since I didn't even wean my body off of anything prior to starting. I did it stupid but cold turkey is the only way I know works for me.

I did an experiment one time where I went on a water fast, and felt miserable, and then ate some green vegetables and instantly felt better than I had been feeling when I was on the water fast. Therefore, shouldn't one feel better--or atleast less miserable/drained--while juicing than on a water fast? Atleast while juicing you are getting nutrients and some nourishment, whereas on a water fast you are only getting water. I am not saying that water-fasting is bad--it is an excellent way to detoxify. I am just curious because it sounds as if you "crave" to be on a water fast than to be juicing.

Im wanting to water fast because I want my problems to be cured, and im feeling anxious to get my body back to normal. juicing was to prep me for this, and I feel absolutely ready for it now. Last edited by IvyW; 11-19-2011 at 07:35 PM.

That's funny 7 days in either of our shoes at this point seems like forever. It is a very repetitive circle of events. And in my normal life I can eat the exact same thing every day and never get bored...in fact I have about 95% of the time for the last 5 years. I am a major creature of habit for sure but just water.....that takes boring to a whole new level...lol. you are in a great starting position if you have prepared yourself with entertainment. By the way have you read the book Crazy Sexy Diet? I bought it a couple days ago and it is really good and an easy read. Pick it up if you haven't. Do you enjoy cooking? It is my absolute pleasure so what's funny is cooking books is all I have been reading besides that book and they don't tempt me. Whatever you do.....don't abort mission this time! Lol |

I will definitely check that out! there is absolutely nothing standing in the way that can prevent me from completing this time. I have planned everything around this. What will keep motivated is the thought that i want kids within the next two years! If i were to get pregnant right now i don't think my body can handle it. If true hunger doesnt hit by day 30 & im feeling alright i will go longer, but no longer than 40. |

That is exciting that you are going to try and get pregnant! Wait how are you going to pursue bodybuilding??? Uh oh that's for sure.not going to work....my girfriends husband wants a baby so bad and her body is not ok to get pregnant because her body fat is too low. Make sure you think about that before diving in to training hardcore. That's a huge commitment to have to stop a year before you try to get pregnant....you know?

How is all that water tasting? Did you only make juice out of the vegetables and fruit? Why didn't you just stick to homemade veggie broth and fresh squeezed orange juice at this point in my fast I really think I could survive quite awhile on just those 2 items....lol

You're absolutely right that we will almost always feel less drained and better overall while juicing as compared to water-only fasting. It is a common misconception, however, that while fasting we are weak because we are under-nourished, when in truth we are getting all the nutrition we need including every necessary vitamin and mineral from our internal reserves. We therefore feel weak with water-only not from lack of nutriment, but because our limited resources/energies are freed up and able to direct themselves away from the massive digestion/assimilation/elimination chores and intensely towards cleansing/detoxifying (and also healing). Detox involves billions of cells releasing toxic materials into the bloodstream for elimination and this will commonly make us feel lousy while it is taking place. Ron Kennedy, M.D. says: Quote:

I'm worried that if I visually see a number 30 show up then I will feel like I'm done regardless of how I feel. I'm wrote down the date that I started and I roughly know the date I would hope to be done but other than that not too concerned at this point. The ones who thought I would quit meant nothing to me then an were only annoying now I am submerged in to this with the limited support that I have and its working wonders. Every morning my husband asks how I am feeling and if I got food sleep or not and on a positive note my answers are getting better. Yesterday was the first day that my back didn't cause me major pain and that was awesome. Today feels a lot like yesterday so far. Ivyw how are you feeling today? Make sure you keep in touch these first couple days so I can push you if you need a nudge |

Well then it sucks that youre sick but whatever makes it easier is great. My worst days were when I felt naseous and my horrible upper back pain....nothing seemed to help I just had to wait it out and let my body do its thing. Today and yesterday my only symtom is that I am overly weak. I will take weak any day over the past junk! I meant to ask you....do you drink coffee normally? |

Not gonna say I told you so...but.....ya its pretty hard not to think about. Even just a sip would be appreciated! Lol. Ok so I have to say that today feels like my "I wanna quit day". Of course I'm not going to but wow it is pretty overwhelming. I actually woke up this morning for this first time with actual hunger. Not that it could have gotten worse but in the past 2-3 days my weight has also stayed exactly the same.....so motivating! |
