I don't think you should water fast for that long without supervision of an expert is my opinion, which would probably also increase success. Last year I did a raw food fast, that included a juice fast and a 1 day water fast. The raw food and juice fast were very successful without any backsliding or even too many cravings. I felt wonderful and the cleanse seemed very effective. The 1 day water fast, on the other hand, was a painful day by the afternoon. I could not stop thinking about going out to get takeout and was almost completely out of energy by 6pm. I was into the watermelon juice shortly after that, and felt great again. I don't I see the benefit of such a long water fast. |

Thank you for your comment im hoping this fast will help cure my bursitis in both hips & bilateral sacroiliitis. Regular rest didn't help, & cortisone injections only helped for about a week:/ the doc said i would need several more injections, im hoping my body will naturally cure itself and i will not need anymore. as for cravings.. my diet is raw whole foods & lean protein. Ill eat out once a month and that always results in me getting sick. so i dont think cravings will be an issue. Day 4 is when i would start feeling annoyed, impatient, dizzy etc.. ive heard after the first week it gets easier. |

Try adding lots of tender coconut water during fasting. It'll help with the electrolytic balance of you body which is lost when you go on prolonged water fast, supplies you with adequate energy- its natural glucose- without overworking your body)which is the main idea behind fasting and keeps you from running outta steam.

Yes I am a fan of coconut water as well. I just made a smoothie for myself out of some fresh young coconut straight out of the husk. Yum! And so rejeuvanating! IvyW you are lucky to be without cravings, that is something I struggle with, although I have made great inroads. If you are having joint/tendon kind of problems, you might want to experiment with a month or so without animal products, as I understand that animal products can aggravate certain conditions (arthritis comes to mind, so perhaps bursitis and other inflammatory conditions as well). I am assuming that your lean protein is meat, I might be wrong. I would recommend getting your lean protein from hemp seeds (which I find just awesome for my body), and dark leafy greens (love me some raw kale), and perhaps some nuts for a while. I guess a water fast would accomplish a removal of animal products for a while, but a raw food/juicing fast would be so much easier! Myself I would be worried about losing too much fat and muscle on such a fast, and suffering from a lack of vitamins. You would also probably not be able to work during a water fast time. That's a of time out of your life. Let us know what you decide to do! |

Hey there!! Me too jus completed Day 1 of Water Fast! Had a little headache for a while, n a little shoulder pain. I have too attempted water fast before, but never made it past day 4 too, food temptation.. But this time i've prepared myself mentally.. Hoping i'll get thru this, hoping for a minimum of 14days fast, and possibly continue on to 21 days.. We can support each other if it helps!! Dee |

Hi IvyW, I too have checked out many YouTube videos to be motivated, and read forums of water fast and look at the transformations, AMAZING i must say! I had a massive headache from last night right til today afternoon, i can bear stomach grumbling, but headache, wheow! was jus soo nasty.. It's subsided now, after i took a hot shower, and whole nite was applying Vicks Vaporub on my forehead and shoulders... I hope no more headache, as i can't stand it as much! Funny thing is i read usually headaches caused by caffeine withdrawal, and i'm not even a coffee or tea drinker to begin with.. But as for stomach grumbling, yest it was grumbling quite a bit, but today i feel ok, slight hungry, but it isn't as bad as yest! Almost completing day 2 for me!! Cant wait to get on scales.. Thought i'll do weekly scale measurement! Started out on 152lbs.. Hoping to lose 25pounds at least.. Wish us All The Best! |

I seriously cant wait until this week is over! my headache finally went away, i did feel a little dizzy this morning but that went away too. my energy is down & all i want to do is lay around and laying around is so boring, i plan to watch a bunch of movies today. my knees are aching as well as my right hip. im definitely going to pay attention to my water intake today. This lack of energy makes me feel like im 80 years old... im only 25 |

My headache went away too!! Im so glad!! I was honestly at the verge of breaking my fast coz the headache was untolerable, and added to that, im in midst of exams for dis semester end. I feel dizzy a lot, and haha, getting up quick does send me in a spin for a few seconds! Well im doing for the health benefits and also the detox and weight loss.. Least after the detox effect, i can start eating healthy with the body system already cleansed! Wanna lose weight coz im in the Overweight BMI scale, never been dis heavy in life now its striking me, specially when shopping, and my clothes in closet can't be fit into! So this is my start, lose some weight, while detoxing, and then adapt a healthy eating plan, possibly do the 3x a week exercise too, time for a change in life! Haa, i understand about unsupportive influences arnd.. Well, jus gotta kep ourselves motivated and am sure we can do this!! Its end of day 3 for me, i feel good! Slight tummy rumbling, feeling weak tho, so i plan to jus stay in, watch tv and rest for 1day before i begin prep for another exam of mine on Monday.. Im glad ive made it this far, so lon headaches dont come back, i can handle tummy grumble! |

A water fast sounds like a great idea. It amazes me how many soft drinks people drink. lol. I'm not a health fanatic or anything, but personally, I hate soft drinks. Most of the time, I drink water, and if not water, than something like milk or some sort of juice. I love tea too but I try to limit myself on that. A thirty day water fast seems like a walk in the park for me lol. But if you really think you have problems drinking nothing but water, try getting it into your mind that you want water. That you enjoy water. And that you don't like anything else, even though this isn't true. As soon as the fasting is over and you've completed your goal, you can pretty much throw those thoughts away, unless you just want to completely quit drinking some sort of drink. Also, try to not think about it too much. It will help the days go by quicker. You could even go as far as carrying around a water bottle. Hope this helps. |

Im also use to eating so many fresh fruits & veges (mostly fruits..my carbs come straight from fresh fruits & veges) im actually craving oranges today :/ i guess you can say i am a "health fanatic" if i wasnt so cocky in the gym when it came to barbell squats & leg press.. i wouldnt have screwed up my body & wouldnt be doing this water fast. I gotta say though it was fun squatting more weight than men haha. Thank you very much for your comment and advice! | |

| I had no idea you were not eating anything either lol. That is just completely different. I would definitely have trouble doing that as well. But I do believe that the "mind game" works. Just make yourself believe that you don't want it, or just don't think about it. Occupying your time would probably help too. Good luck.
