I moved to Hawaii almost a year ago and since then I have become much more active and have started getting back into shape. I've probably lost 20 pounds, and I'm getting my muscular build back in my arms and chest. I don't get sore anymore after a long hike through the mountains, and I have a lot more energy, even after a tiring day. I feel great. I also don't drink or smoke anymore. Coffee, yes, but no more than 2 cups a few days a week. My diet is pretty good, but I do sometimes indulge in my guilty pleasures like pizza and burgers. Anyhow, I've noticed that on days like today, Sunday, when I do nothing but sit on my butt and be lazy, I start feeling restless and uneasy. I have no idea why. It's the only day of the week that I do nothing. Does anyone know of anything that would help get rid of this antsy feeling I have? Is it just excess energy that I need to burn off? Are there any supplements I can take to "even it out", so to speak? |

Personally I don't think there's anything that wrong with feeling that you have to do something. Although activities like meditation are good, you certainly don't have to do it for five hours. I do it for only 15 to 20 minutes at a time and then I'm refreshed to do something else. Maybe on your rest day, you don't really have to rest all day. Maybe try out some things that you would not normally do on the other days. That might get you feeling more satisfied that you are actually doing something productive. By the way, how is living in Hawaii? |

Hawaii is great. It's a steady 70/80 degrees year round, sunny every day with intermittent rains, and everyone is super nice. Well, everyone on this island is nice, at least for the most part. Oahu and Maui are less friendly, mainly due to their being so commercialized and overrun by rude tourists 24/7. But when you get away from that crap and see the real Hawaii, it's totally different. It really is beautiful here, and everyone is very community oriented and looks out for each other. It's like 1950's/60's America here. The good old days are alive and well. I love it.

I get that way at work as well...where I feel like dropping down and breakdancing but I'm sedentary. If you're in Hawaii can't you just head down to the beach and surf or even swim on your lazy sunday? Hawaii sounds like Melbourne a bit...except you guys have more sunny days. Melbourne likes to keep us guessing. You can also do sit ups or something like that in your home until you feel like the extra energy has dispersed. Skip rope? |

Being a Leo with a Leo sun rising, I'm just a big cat. I pretty much have to work at being more motivated. I need lots of quiet time too, though now that it's spring I have loads of restless energy that just wants to run around and paint and skip and jump and sing and...you get the picture. Taking the dog for long walks sounds like a good option, that you'll both love.

Anyway, if it doesn't energize you, maybe you need more challenging activities that you've never done before

| Haha, nope. Just my own mind short circuiting. Within that brief moment of confusion was a thought that you had gone a bit insane thinking it was spring but that quickly passed when I noticed where you live.
